university predictions

do uni's offer interviews because of well written personal statements or predicted grades?
Unis take loads of stuff into consideration when making you an offer or inviting you to interview

The personal statement becomes increasingly significant as you go higher up in the rankings of the university/popularity of the course; outside of the top 10, having the predicted grades the university requires should give you an offer.

Depends on the subject. For science at somewhere like Cambridge they don't care about your PS much at all, just your marks/grades.

Definitely depends on the subject and university, both Oxford and Cambridge are 'famous' for not being particularly interested in it.
