integration question

1. A curve passes through the point 2,3. The gradient of the curve is given by

Dydx = 3x^2-2x-1

A) find y in terms of x
B) find coords of ajy stationery points of the graph of y

How do you do part b?

2. Dydx of a curve = 3x^2-8x+5

Curve passes through 0,3

A) find the equation of the curve
B) find coords of the two stationery points on the curve. State with a reason the nature of each stationery point.
C) state the range of values of k for which the curve has 3 distinct intersections with the line y=k
D) state the range of values of x for which the curve has a negative gradient. Find the x coord of the point within this range where the curve is steepest.

How do you do part b c d?

Thanks and please provide method so i know how to do t in the future

Stationary points occur when the differential is zero
2b. Find the points where the differential equals 0. Then at each of these points, find the value of the second differential to find the nature of the stationary point.

2c. Use the stationary points to find the range of values.

2d. Find the values of x for which the first differential < 0. Then find the value for which the modulus of the first differential is maximised(using the second differential).

Not really

This is why the OP is struggling ... The start of the questions are integration ... These will be in the integration section so the OP forgot that they could use previous knowledge

The majority of the questions are geometry or differentiation though. There is no real emphasis on integration. It's just the first part. They only wanted help on b, c, d anyway.
