how to write address on envelope

Does it matter which order I write the address in as long as it's all on the envelope. Also I wrote quite a lot for the addresse.

Finally do I write my address on the top left so if it doesn't reach the location they can return it to me.

Thanks.

Edit: That's the first link in Lionheart96's search results. :-)

I think that's how they do it in the USA. In the UK it usually goes on the back, written small and in a corner with "From:" before it so it cannot be confused with the real address.

The question I have it doesn't matter what order it is in or how detailed?

Do you need someone to click on the links for you?

So if it's not in that format it's ineligible?

You'll find out over the next few days.
Goodness me you don't know how to write on an envelope?

Example (this is an imaginary address by the way):

On the front, centre, of the envelope. Reasonably large letters :

12 Cherryblossom Lane
Rotherham
Leeds
West Yorkshire
LS25 9BK

alternatively this would also work :

12 Cherryblossom Lane
Rotherham
Leeds
LS25 9BK
West Yorkshire

On the back, top, either corner, small letters :

If undelivered please return to + Your own address

I honestly wouldn't veer too far from the above format for writing addresses on envelopes. Not only will you piss off Royal Mail but you'll also make yourself look like a numpty to the recipient.

If it's in the wrong order on the envelope, it will still get there. But the people sorting it won't like that they had to spend an extra half a second finding the poscode
