Scandal certainly starts amazing though I have to say I lost interest because I got annoyed/bored by the show being the "Kerry Washington cry face" show.

I know, right? The Sopranos and The Wire sail steady through the sea of mediocre TV shows, even after all these years. Easily navigating around the dog turd catastrophes of shows like Family Guy and The Big Bang Theory.

The pinnacle of screen writing. In my humble opinion anyway.
I can't believe no one has mentioned The Blacklist, I only started watching it the other day and I'm hooked!

contemporary Scandinavian stuff like the bridge, the killing and The Legacy (if anyone's heard of that - sky arts are showing it at the moment) are very good.

Gomorrah also supposed to be good.
