Year 12s: what will be the first way you research your future options? >>

Don't know which course to pick :/

I'm currently in the process of changing my degree from mathematics (because I did not enjoy it) to something I enjoy. I really don't know what I like :/ but I know I'd love to go into secondary education/education sometime. I'm just wondering whether the University of Birmingham's BA Education degree would allow me a pathway into secondary education?

Im in a similar situation! Not really enjoying my Uni course and considering what to do :/ I would think it would give you a good route into Education and doesn't it grant you your QTS? I know if you want to be a specialised teacher such as a maths teacher your probably best sticking with maths and doing a PGCE at the end of it.

It's a tough one isn't it :/. What course are you doing, what have you decided at the moment? But I don't enjoy maths :/ and the idea of teaching something I have no passion for is depressing :frown:

When you say you want to go into education, do you mean:

educational psychology

•

special-needs education

•

education policy-making

•

teaching

•

head-teacher, etc.

Well, the only decision you really have to make is this: do you want to educate (i.e. a teacher, in which case, do a degree in a subject and then a teacher-training course), or do you want to know about education (in which case, study education)?
