Describe the difference between atoms and molecules using diagrams

The more details it is, the better I suppose. Thanks you.

Molecules are made from multiple atoms. Atoms are only divisible into the sub-atomic particles. (Protons, electrons, neutrons)

What about monoatomic molecules (noble gases)?

Atoms aren't molecules, by definition

(The bit about a depression on the potential energy surface basically means it must be stable enough to hold together)

Encyclopaedia Britannica doesn't agree with you. I'm not sure which one's right.

Basically, go with whatever your A level exam boards definition is. You won't be shot for calling Helium atoms monatomic molecules.

But, IUPAC definitions are correct - they're the internationally accepted body that defines these sorts of things (that is, decides what these words precisely mean when used in a scientific context). Only very boring people actually care about these things though, and they have lots of very boring definitions on all sorts of things –*see systematic naming of organic molecules! (Just look at the A-Z of the IUPAC gold book - an enthralling read).

Well then the people at Britannica clearly don't know about the subject they're writing about

It seems not.
