Neurology

Hi. I am in Year 11 at the moment and I was considering a path in neurology. I was intrigued by the study of nerves during GCSE and so wish to pursue this. However, I have heard that this course can take up to 10 years to complete in some cases. This is clearly an issue with high uni fees. Is it worth the long study period?
Thanks for your help.

You would study Medicine to become a doctor. The course takes 5 or 6 years depending on the med school. The NHS picks up tuition from the fourth year onwards. You don't study at a uni to specialise (ie become a neurologist) after becoming a junior doctor.
