Just looked at this discussion again! Well done all who have got offers/interviews! Bet you're over the moon. And to those still waiting (like me!) hope you're all holding out and not sending yourselves loopy.. I've had a rough start to the week so hoping I will have some news soon x

I took an AS in English Language (B) And A Levels in Philosophy (B), Psychology (B) and Theatre Studies (B) ... That was 10 years ago though! I hope that suffices for sciences...
I didn't do A levels, did an entrance test to get into Uni as a mature student some years ago. Have since done a social sciences degree, an early childhood MA and OU undergraduate courses in science and currently psychology.

Wow you've done a lot. How come you done more courses and not a speech therapy degree before now?
I am cheating cos I am not applying this year (but familiar with the stresses from going through all this last year) but I did Psychology, Sociology, Religious Studies and English Literature/Language at A2 and also have critical thinking AS (for what its worth!).
It was when I started to do psychology last year that I realised that I could bring all my experiences together (I was an early years teacher) and hopefully retrain as a speech therapist. It all depends if I get offered a place though!

I am sure you will get an offer - that's too much good experience to go to waste!

I am a trained primary teacher too. I am hoping my 2.1 in Philosophy and my PGCE, along with experience will get me a place. I had never really though about Speech and Language therapy before. But I wanted to move on from Teaching and specialise. Then I realised I could do this with SpLT and work with all ads in different settings.
Not too bad and still no news! I'm assuming it will be march before I hear. I'm nervous about Leeds for some reason haha!
Oh it's so mean - the not knowing - sometimes its better when it's like Manchester where they tell you exactly when you will know even if its a long wait to get to the deadline.
Don't worry about Leeds - that was the best interview experience last year - but don't ask me for advice as they rejected me lol. Was slightly gutted they said no even though I had the MMU offer - but it worked out for the best for me because I really always wanted to do the joint course and an offer from Leeds would have confused me!
I've done: AS: English language, English literature, geography and history
Then I moved colleges because the other was rubbish and have done AS' and am doing A2 now in: English language, psychology and English literature, general studies (but no where even counts it, we just get forced to do it!) Unfortunately I couldn't transfer across my results from my first college to my new college so I had to restart completely! Probably for the better though as at least by this point I had a career option in mind
