Hey, sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but was wondering when you applied for both universities and when they replied to your application via interview/offer please?

Applied to UCL in November, got an offer this week.
Applied to Imperial a week after UCL, got an interview offer 5 days later followed by a formal offer after the interview

Hope that helps?

Hi, I was just wondering what background you have? I have offers from Birmingham and Liverpool and I wanted to apply for UCL. Sadly, Imperial told me I wouldn't be eligible to apply. I have a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree but years of experience in electronic engineering. I know I need to submit a small program to apply to UCL, but they also want £50 just to apply! Is it worth it?

To attempt to answer your question, both are ridiculously good universities, and you will land on your feet either way. They both have high rankings, in the UK and worldwide, and are fairly similar. I would have a good look at he modules and decide what you would really like to specialise in. Also, contact departments and see if they will meet you; for example, I have a meeting with the head of postgraduate CS admissions after the Birmingham open day. Make sure you go to visit both, you'll most likely get a gut feeling. Sorry I can't be more help.
