Us bearing witness is not like accepting or pledging etc. It is that we know and we have witnessesd and nothing is greater than Allah. Imagine you are a bedouin in the arab world. Your hobbies include sword fighting, horse riding etc.

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Wal'aadi yaati dabha
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

1. وَٱلْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحًا

If we compare horse riding with modern technology, we could compare this with a car. Allah mentions in the quran 'aladyat' now aladyat is known as the battle horse and not just any battle horse it is the female horse (mare). Which are known for their speed in battle.

We come to know that this is the most exotic sports car one of the best of its range if it is compared to modern day technology.

So, now we should know this being mentioned it catches the attention of the bedoin , as it's his favourite thing they are obsessed with the battle horse and it's qualities.

Now allah goes to describe the qualities of this horse. So he mentions, the word dabha Dabha in the Arabic language means fierce breathing. when will a person hear breathing of a horse? when the rider is on top of the horse and the horse is galloping so fast that its breathing can be heard by the rider. Again I would like to compare this to a magnificent sports car. The driver is in the car un aware of anything but the road ahead of him and his car. And we would compare the breathing to the Rev of the car Or when one changes gear and hears the vroom etc. would this not be a race drivers dream.?

Fal moori yaati qadha
2. فَٱلْمُورِيَٰتِ قَدْحً
To continue and to sketch a scene in the readers/listeners mind subhanallah allah subhana wata'ala describes this horse and his state of action as falmooryati qadha.

Qadha In the Arabic language has a few meanings in here it is used as the making of fire, friction which causes sparks. We understand by this the quran is mentioning that the horse is galloping so fast that his hooves touching stones In the ground are causing sparks. If we picture this in the mind of the bedouin he will be entranced by this scene and words.

Comparing this again just to see it more in this day worldly perspective. I would say, when the driver changes the gear in a sports car and it gives out a little spark from its exhaust does the driver not think he is invincible and wants to go even faster etc.

3. فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحً
Falmugheerat e subha Subhanallah. Allah Swt places such beauty in even one word one cannot even begin to comprehend.

Allah describes that this horse and the rider is galloping towards their enemy at day time. Not a fear In this world, as according to war strategists the best time to attack is at night but these riders are fearless of any repercussions and are ridng to attack the enemy like a pack of wolves preying for rabbits.

Fa atharna bihee naq'a
4. فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا

to increase the perception and imagination of the listener allah Swt says the word naq'a which allows us to see the riders from the enemies point of view this word means a cloud of dust created from fast travel. The enemy can now see a cloud of dust travelling to them at high speed

. فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعً
Fa wa satna bihi jam'a

allah Swt. carries on this enchanting and fascinating story this reader or listener is completely immersed and allah ta'ala explains that now the riders and horses have penetrated the enemy ranks. So now the riders are in between their enemy and the enemy is all around them.

You have to understand that this is all a description of a battle horse and it's qualities. At this moment the listener is admiring the battle mare . He is sayin wow how loyal is this horse it knows that the spear of the enemy will hurt itself before the rider but still it says determined and does not flinch and protects it's master.

Normally animal instincts cause the animal to run away at the sight of danger but this horse is trained by his master to stay firm.

Allah beautifully stops this and cuts the scene out and says what he wanted to say at the beginning but now he has the readers attention.

6. إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُو
Innal insana lirab bhi lakanood

Allah subhana wata'ala knows what the reader is thinking and he says that. Subhanallah

Hang on you are admiring this horse and how loyal he is to his master but in fact you have a master and you aren't very loyal or obedient at all.

This renders the listener speachless. This point hits the listeners heart in such away that he is unable to disagree

Before I say my opinion, I would like to clarify that my personal view and actions will not agree with those of the sholars and thus it would be wrong to say that I mean to imply my opinion is Islamicly allowed....

I personally think that dawah to females from males is okay, but prolonged contact and informal socialising is best avoided; this contradicts my actions because in reality, I have female friends online, but it is easier to avoid fitnah and easier to subtly give dawah whilst socialising. The benefit of giving subtle dawah is that it is positively reinforced by feelings of comfort which are provided by talking normally and in a relaxed way, so on a psychological level, prolonged 'socialising-dawah' can have a greater affect on those who are less inclined to respond to the more mentally taxing direct call to Islam which requires further personal research and soul searching :beard:

Well JazakAllahu khayran for your honesty. Though obviously I disagree. I can understand why you may think like this however. I am quite severe on this topic, I mean I still consider leaving the ISOC. But the PM you sent inspired me to post this question...in a way... I wanted you to see what other people thought because my opinion only isn't enough. I hope you are not offended btw, I need this knowledge too, and some people in this place. A very interesting question brother. This is merely my own opinion, and Allah swt knows best, but i believe the truth for any sincere, objective, truth seeking individual should be accessible. If the truth is not accessible, one would question the justice of God, surely, into commanding us to believe in something not convincing?

I would argue that disbelief can stem from ignorance - not knowing the truth. Even if you see someone making a sincere effort, yet nt being convinced, it could be due to a plethora of causes.

1. They could really be learning Islam from anti-islam sources, which cleverly distort Islam (i.e websites we all know)
2. They may have preconceived biases , be it emotional or otherwise
3. They may be reading inaccurate information, explained poorly - as we often see.
4. They may beleive Islam = only sunni, or Islam = only shia. Before deciding if Islam is true, one should study both schools of thought.
5. They may not take a holistic view of the Quran. For instance, an atheist asked - why does Allah swt say he guides whom he wills and misguides whom he wills? Why worship a God like that! To that i answered, in another verse he says for those who struggle in his cause, he will guide them , meaning Allah swt guides those who are sincere and want to be guided. You see ?
6. Alleged conflict between religion and science. In islam, there really are no blatant outright conflicts.

I could go on and on.

At the end of the day, it will be for Allah swt to judge us all individually, he has knowledge over all things , and is merciful and just, and he himself says in the Quran that no soul will be wronged in the least.

and Allah swt knows best.

"In those days the tradition of Marriage was based on tribal customs and rituals. The objective of marriage was mainly to foster friendship with the father of the bride and therefore the marriage of the Prophet with Ayesha was a political move.
The Prophet at the age of 25 married Khadijah, a woman who was 40-years-old and did not marry with another woman as long as she was alive. If the Prophet was a lustful man, he would not have married with an older woman and stay faithful to her all her life.
The Prophets intention in marrying numerous old and widowed women, apart from sociopolitical considerations, was to foster their social status. Those were the days when women, especially slave girls, had little or no value and ignorance was such that they used to burry their daughters alive.
The marriage of the Prophet with Ayesha took place in the first or second year of the Hijra at the insistence of her father Abu Bakr and some of his friends. The Prophet, for sometimes after the death of Khadijah, remained single. His main objective in accepting this marriage was for political reasons. The reason for this marriage was that the Prophet was under the intense pressure by his enemies like Abu Lahab and Abu Jahl and was completely dependant of the protection of other tribes. Abu Bakr had a lot of tribal influence. And rejecting his offer, in those conditions, for the Prophet was not prudent. In reality this marriage was symbolic and not to satisfy his sexual instinct, because, as a rule a 53-year-old man cannot have sexual feelings for a 9-year-old girl.
There is no doubt that the climatic conditions influence the physical and psychological growth of girls and their growth are more accelerated in hot climates.

The difference of age between men, and the women they married, in the primitive societies, was acceptable and customary. Also it was not indecent or lewd for older men to marry very young girls and people of those days did not deem that to be something immoral. Even up to this day, one can find marriages with very young girls among the Arabs. As a rule one should not compare the customs of the primitive and tribal societies with the customs of the modern and advanced societies of today.
The issues of each time and place must be viewed according to the standards of their own time and place and not according to standards of other times and places. On the other hand we find that the Prophet (pbuh) practically did not confront with many customs of his own time that were not in contrast with the educational and spiritual goals of Islam, but dealt with them gradually and with realism in order to slowly eradicate them."

I've seen a video where Nouman Ali Khan talked about how guys can sometimes manipulate women into the wrong path and one of the points covered was women giving dawah. May Allah protect us. Ameen. I think it's wrong to be verbally talking about it one-to-one but if it's a TSR convo or whats app then that's something different. However, you need to keep your convos on topic. Regarding your second question - Having a friend is a different thing then having a brother/sister as a friend. No you should not have a male / female friend because 100% sure that either the opposite sex will continue this 'friendship' to different levels. I prefer having a range of brothers/sisters not only one friend. Just like you guys on ISOC.
