In some cases it does. I am not claiming that in your case it will but maybe you are suitable for that too.
Most of the optometrists are not aware of the existence of many alternative (even completely scientific) methods of vision control and improvement.

If you could provide me with the research on this I'd gladly have a look into it
I'm short sighted, which means I can't see very well in to the distance- its very blurry. It was quite strange cause my eye sight had been perfect up until my revision during AS.. But yeah. I'm fine with reading, but have to squint in to the distance if I haven't got my glasses on.

Talk to your optometrist about it. Reducing the power for distance while maintaining a 20/30 vision and giving a slight over + for near vision (+0.25 over correction) may reduce eyestrain and keep your eyes in balance when you have to change working distances all the time (especially when studying). This is mostly effective if the hyperopia is progressing in teen/young adults years due to an accomodative spasm or over correction (with +) for the distance.

Have myopia for 9 years and I have -4. :frown:
I've tried those night lenses that temporarily correct your vision and they stopped the evolution of my myopia for a couple years but they were too high maintanance and quite uncomfortable so I went back to normal contact lenses. That was 3 years ago and my myopia only rose with -0.50 since then so it was a good experiment also my corneea wasn't damaged thankfully.
Also, I look good in nerdy thick frame glasses
I just made my peace with it.

my prescription has risen...first eye test in four years and apparantly my vision has gotten a lot worse....she has also sent me to a specialist hospital because I have really big eyes (LOL)..and they may be able to help

I guess my prescription now will be about -7 or something:frown: TBF it was my first test in 5 years and last time my prescription was -3.5 -3.0

If your glasses still help you I hardly believe you have -7.

Not only nutrition but healthy lifestyle in general will help a lot. Well my eyes are less dry, even in the winter when it is cold and they less tend to random infections and allergies.
I also improved my eyesight a bit by exercises but I am not claiming they are good for everyone and I myself am not that sure how they work (even being a 4th year optometry student doesnt really help understanding how they work).

Just out of interest, what did you find help with your dry eyes? Although, I largely suspect mine is medication related than anything else.

Many meds can cause dry eyes. Getting off the pill is one of the best steps I ever took.
What else can help a lot is eating more fresh vegs and fruits and less salty and highly processed food and less wheat.
I first had my eyes tested at about age 18. Last time I had a test (when I got my first contacts) was in about 2010 and I got -1.25, -1.25. I don't go outside without glasses or contacts because it's too difficult to see stuff, despite it being a fairly mild prescription. I think it's got worse though because I struggle to see certain distances I know I ought to be able to, and I've noticed I see noticeably further with my glasses than with my contacts (which wasn't the case before). So something must have got worse.

I also get quite dry and crusty eyes, I had blepharitis and a randomly puffy eye for years when I was younger, possibly still have blepharitis, I was too young to understand exactly what the deal was (so looking stuff to do with it up now doesn't help a lot). I now seem to be vaguely bothered by allergies quite often (hay fever, inflamed nasal passages, sneezing, prone to eczema) so I suspect it has a lot to do with that. There was something to do with astigmatism mentioned as well when I last had an eye test, I really ought to look this stuff up sometime. Though I'm now a med student so I'm sure I'll learn some useful stuff at some point.

Last time I had an eye test I had to persuade the optician I wasn't on drugs, because my eyes were really dilated. He said I wouldn't be able to have laser eye surgery in future because of it. :s-smilie: I expect I'll get a second opinion/more info on that in the future because the whole dry eye thing doesn't work amazingly with contacts.

msybe -6....ill see when i them
I have studied this field so much, and come to the conclusion myopia can be reversed.

the only website, that offers a realistic solution and understanding of myopia is endmyopia.org, and gettingstronger.
google those 2 websites

eye vitamin supplements - a scam , but can help indirectly,
eye exercises - a scam
cure eyesight in a week - a scam
magic healing eyes - a scam,
bates method - a scam
ORTHO K - works, but too dangerous and doesn't solve the real problem

eye habits, understanding the eye, and practising these habits for about a year - a realistic improvement in myopia

yes you can reverse myopia.
"Comparing the eye to a digital camera, Severson observed that the eye will attempt to “autofocus” on any image that is slightly out of focus, but will not even attempt to focus on objects that are significantly out of focus. " - this explains it

-4.75 both eyes I think. Pretty badd :frown:
Im short sighted. Have had to wear glasses for about a year now.
I have to wear glasses due to me being short sighted :frown:. I think I might consider getting contact lenses instead.
-2.76 in both eyes.

I had to start wearing glasses in high school. :frown:
I had perfect eyesight until I got a neurological problem called visual snow.

Moving static everywhere in my vision! I can't filter out floaters well so they are always darting about. I can see the white blood cells moving around in the capillaries in the back of my eye on bright surfaces because I can't filter those out well either. Starbursts are massive. Negative after imaging off any moderately bright object. Random black patches appear in my vision then go from time to time.

No cure or treatment aside from sunglasses. The first major study was done in 2014 so it's a long way off from treatment. It's rare and not widely medically recognised.

Life is so fun!

My left eye is -7.75. My right eye is -8.25. Now thats two people.

Funnily enough, i hate wearing glasses and contacts are not an option as i faint whenever i've tried wearing them. So i go outside without being able to see anything clearly at all. Not even my own feet.

I only wear glasses in the classroom or at home.
