Kompany has been shocking for City for a long time tbh, they were doing better with Mangala and Demichelis when Kompany was out, Kompany is not helped by pretty horrific defensive tactics though. Fernando was bought to fill in the spaces between CB and CM and he's too horrible on the ball to actually make anything happen. Didn't expect him to turn out so badly but I guess he has time to improve.

Nasri played in place of Silva in many games and they have Lampard for creativity at AM where he's surprisingly good for a 36 year old, Fernando is/has been shocking but Fernandinho is a pretty good player. He's somebody I wanted to have at Chelsea in all honesty and I'd still take him now, very versatile midfielder who can play box to box, Deep lying and behind the striker.

At this moment in time, City undoubtedly have the best squad in the league, but in a couple seasons they're likely to be below United and Arsenal in those regards for various reasons, honestly think they'll drop out of top 4 fairly soon.

Yeah. Defensive possession and absolutely dirty counter attacks. Mourinho team in a nutshell. Also his teams happen to be indirect set piece specialists.

Real Madrid used to do some absolutely juicy counters under Mourinho though. They still do but some of the counters they had with Ozil, Ronaldo, Di Maria and Benzema were just juicy. Still remember Spurs getting sodomised at the bernabeu.

Convinced Real Madrid fans are a bit stupid tbh, "Mourinho does not play attacking football, he defends too much" rofl. Worst fans around, they even booed Zidane.

I don't get the Mou criticisms wrt attacking football(bar for games vs Barca where Ancelotti adopts similar tactics anyway) and he has the la liga goals record(with 100 goal seasons each year he's managed there...)

Real fans are stupid as ****. Had them doing Mourinho chants earlier last season when they weren't doing well in the league ffs.

A large group of them just boo Bale non-stop. Those thick bastards wouldn't be happy until they had a team consisting of just Isco and Ronaldo.

****, just realised this is the Arsenal thread, better get back on track, predictions for Saturday? We have the squad to beat them, could be one of the classic derby's, I'm going for 3-1 to us, can see Kane or Eriksen scoring (obvs), but we have so much strength going forward and they're fullbacks are suspect.

Also, I don't want to jinx it but we've been pretty outstanding from set pieces and corners so far this season, been really impressed

I reckon it will be Spurs 2-3 Arsenal. Can't see us keeping Eriksen out, and they will get another scummy goal (perhaps Kane), but we will be strong. We are on a run as well, whereas they, for the most part, are relying on Eriksen scoring after the 80th minute. We have been outstanding, but give them a free kick and Eriksen will convert it.
Lol Wenger has an Engineering degree and an Economics Masters.

And speaks English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and a bit of Japanese. Le Professeur indeed.
This game has score draw written all over it 2-2 but I'm edging for an arsenal win obvs

**** man I keep rewatching that Ozil assist to Giroud, So good :coma:

So glad Walcott is back. It means we can actually break on the counter now and not have it disrupted by Ox's poor decision making/slowing down of play. Ramsey hasn't exactly been spectacular but he suits our style of play much more then Wilshere. Thing is we fielded such a strong side against Villa, that who do we replace with Sanchez? Ozil/Walcott or Cazorla? Quite a tough decision to make really, but I'm glad after all this time we're actually in this dilemma for once. Welbeck's career isn't exactly looking good but he still has time. If he doesn't work out then we can always sell him to palace, let em run a Chamakh Welbeck Sanogo trio

Imagine if they'd suffered the dross that was Eboue, Gervinho, Senderos etc
Akpom signs new deal.

Something tells me he will score his first goal for us soon, and won't do a Sanogo.
Don't see us keeping a clean sheet but if we do then pwhaaarr you know Ospina is something. Kane or Erikson to get a scummy goal, no not even. I bet the goal will be a good one, from like a free kick or something right outside the box.

It's important to start the game well, not just create chances but finish them. If we've still got the lead in the dying 10 minutes of the game or something and it's by only a one goal margin then please by all means, park the flipping bus idec. I won't be happy with a draw tbh (dependant on how other teams around us do though)

Just looked at the fixtures and realised Man utd have West Ham away next which could be tricky but on the other hand Soton have a managerless and already crap QPR away next..after their loss to Swansea you reckon they'd go all out and demolish them. **** me top four might have to wait another week

I think you guys will draw with Spurs and it'll be an entertaining high scoring draw. I love the NLD because it usually has many goals. I'd be wary though because if Spurs turn it on and Arsenal have a bad day at the office it could get embarassing like what happened to Chelsea. Spurs are so unpredictable and you never know which side that'll turn up.

We have West Ham away (a game that i'll be going to ) and i honestly think we'll beat them. Reid, Collins and Carroll are out for them which means we wont struggle as much at set pieces and we can contain thier aerial presence.

Also for some reason i just feel like QPR will get something against Southampton. My reasoning is that after a manager is sacked, the team go all out to impress and the new manager syndrome. However, tbh anything but a win for Southampton will be worrying and may finally begin the slide down the table for them which we have been expecting for a very long time.

Legit don't know what I'd do if we got banged 5-3 by Spurs or something. They'd never in their history stop talking about it. We need to be cool and compact just as we were at City and I pray that Wenger doesn't throw Gabriel into the starting line up or something (I'm sure he won't though). Spurs are noticeably defending better as well, hmm tough call this one.

They've still got the likes of Valencia, Sakho and Song etc to do some damage to you guys. I wouldn't be too confident but yeah I do think you'd win also. I remember when they were in the top for not so long ago and Downing said they were aiming for Europe...now they're 8th I think it is. That changed.

Really? I always thought it was the other way round. No I don't think QPR will get anything at all, just can't see it. Kudos if you're right though.
honstly.. I think we will crush spurs.

2-3 goals in the first half, and them out of it by half time..

Ericksen may get one back, but that will be about it.

A combination of their last minute winners, and kanes form has flattered them this season, when overall I dont think they have improved much.

Reality will come back though on the weekend.. we are high on confidence, and playing very well.. cazorla, walcott, ozil, sanchez, giroud - will just be to strong for them, and I fully expect a flurry of chances for us in the first half.

If you play like the way you did against City then you'll crush Spurs.

We've got Di Maria, RVP, Rooney, Mata to do some damage to them plus we have De Gea in goal :ahee:. They're concentrating more on the FA cup rather than the league (iirc Big Sam said this). I think they'll comfortably finish in the top 10.

Meh one can hope. Everything points to an 8-0 win for Southampton.

Eriksen will score an 85th minute free kick after we bring on Flamini and he gets an instant yellow. Kane will score a rebounded toe punt from the edge of the 6 yard box, and everyone will go mad as if he is the next Bale.

I want us to start well, but park the bus most of the game. Just do what we did against City - force them out wide, don't let them run through the centre, two banks of 4 with Coq inbetween.

Would make the season tbh, always nice putting that noisy lot back in their place.

I would rather beat Chelsea at home than beat Spurs. We know the Spuds are inferior, but beating Mourinho trumps all.

Not beating Spurs would be disastrous tbh. It has to be done.
Beating Maureen in what turns out to be decisive points to their title hopes would be the absolute king though. *Orgasms*
