calculating the shear strain from a diagram

Hello,

The solution for this question is given below. Isn't shear strain the angle change between the two lines that were previously perpendicular?

If so then shouldn't it be equal to tan inverse of 2 / 16? The solution uses 10 for the adjacent length as shown in the picture, but I don't understand where they get it from?

You're after the shear strain in the nylon only.
