I'd like to know who these scholars are and their argument for it.

Couldn't find any. Though I did find a document that said the main scholars unanimously agree it's haram.

But if you pay quickly then you don't have to pay with interest if I'm not wrong.

Also not here to argue. Only repeating what I've seen other Muslim posters here say to a rather common question.

I've never heard that before.

I'm not arguing, just curious.

Its been changed, you incur interest the moment your in first year, its like 3%+ inflation or something while you are at university. Then it drops to the +inflation rate.

The change has made people think twice and people have set up a system to provide loans which just need to be paid back without any interest, etc.

Ok take a look at these links. Not saying student loans are Halal but you asked so...

http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?306344-quot-Scholars-quot-making-Student-Loans-Halal

"The scholar I follow says it is permissible to take an interest based loan, because getting an education is more important. Why the need then to develop an alternative model?"

Dawud asked Allah, "What is the least of your blessings?" Allah revealed to him to take a breath. Dawud did so, and Allah told him, This is the least of my blessings on you."

No it says "revealed to him".

Pretty sure Musa (pbuh) was the only Prophet Allah has spoken to directly.

Allah swt spoke through Musa pbuh through a bush on fire. We know God has no form, nor vocal chords or voice. He created or inspired speech, to communicate with Musa pbuh.

But then it also says "Allah told him" ...:dontknow:

Also, muhammad (saw)... Didnt he literally speak to allah when he went to the heavens and was told about the prayers?

fiesty haha, that's nice, so many great women of the sahaba had a firey spirit! Read about Nusaybah Bint Ka'b (one of my fave sahabi women), she was an incredible woman masha Allah, She was one of only two women who traveled with 27 men to Makkah, and pledged allegiance our beloved Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam).
