ey Guys, any help would be much appreciated. I've received offers from Bham, Nottingham and Bath (A*AA), Cardiff AAA and Surrey AAB. Obviously those first 3 are the main players, and after visiting all I've found that Nottingham and Bath slightly edge it over Bham, idk why, just it didn't quite push all the buttons. But idk which one to choose from Bath and Notts. I found that the departments and courses were very similar and little to choose between, and the campuses were both very nice. Bath had slightly better sports and is obviously a nicer city, but I can't help thinking if find it a bit 'antiquated' after 3 years. Notts on the other hand felt really social and the SU was larger, it's obviously much cheaper to live in the city and I felt like the accommodation was slightly better. What do you guys think, is there a considerable difference in reputation and what are your experiences?
Do you have a preference in what branch of physics you want to know more about?

Tbh, I just want a solid understanding of most areas so I can go on to do a more specialised masters. I enjoy everything to much atm to pick between areas
And what would the specialised master be in?

Idk, that's why I want a good broad BSc to begin with so I know what exactly it is I properly love
Ok, well I would say that Nottingham is probably your best bet if you are planning on staying in physics. It is better known as a university and has a good collection of staff members. It also has a strong mathematics department if you wish to learn some material there. This will be very helpful when you are needing references for your masters applications and also gives you a broader choice of bachelor thesis topics. Hopefully this helps.

Anyone at Nottingham tomorrow for Interview/Visit Day?
Does anyone have any tips as for how to prepare for a Physics Interview?
I have a Physics and Maths interview with York on monday, and am getting nervous. At first I was only worried about the technical questions, but now I'm also getting worried about the 'Why are you so good' sort of questions.

Just be confident, but not cocky.

Is anyone else attending the visit day for UCL on the 18th of February or for Manchester on the 24th?

Also has anyone got advice for choosing between UCL and Manchester?
Im going to the UCL day tomorrow, when I went to book it was only showing me the 11th as available. ill update you tomorrow evening
I received a letter in the post from Nottingham today regarding my application. They said they will be making me an offer for a place to study MSci Physics there, but they have not specified the grades yet.

Thet mentioned that their standard offer is A*AA and also said ''we believe it is important to treat your application individually to ensure that the offer we make is right for you, matched to your personal background and circumstances.'' I was invited to attend a visit day, which includes and informal chat with a member of academic staff about my application, and my offer will be confirmed at this meeting?

I should mention that I'm a mature student (24), and self-studying my A-levels. I find it hard to believe I'll receive a lower offer, seeing as I have standard offers from Bristol, Leicester, and Loughborough. Is this common with Nottingham?
Has anyone applied to and heard anything from southampton? I applied there for physics and maths but still not got back to me.

When did you apply? I did it ages ago
I sent off in late November, I wasn't sure whether they just leave it late or something but it's bugging me 😂
