Why are you depressed? what subjects do you study?
"When a man prays publicly in a good manner & prays secretly in a good manner, Allah most high says,'This is My servant indeed.'"(Ibn Majah)
During these blessed nights, remember to pray for our brothers and sisters worldwide suffering from oppression. May Allah protect them all.
Surah Ar-Rum

Below I’ve summarised key points of this Surah

Historical Background

The predictions made in the initial verses of this surah is one of the most outstanding evidences of the Quran’s being the Word of God and the Prophet Muhammad’s being a true Messenger of God.

So eight years before the Prophet’s advent as a Prophet the Byzantine Emperor Maurice was overthrown by Phocus who captured the throne and became king. Phocus killed the Emperor and executed his five sons; he also had the empress put to death. This event provided Khusrau Parvez (the Sassanid king of Persia) to attack Byzantium. So he started war, later Phocus could not save the country so he was deposed. This happened in 610 A.D, the year Prophet was appointed to Prophethood.

Khurau still continued war even though the war was no more valid after the death of Phocus. He continued the war and gave it colour of a crusade between Zoroastrianism and Christianity.

After all this, Damascus fell in 513 A.D. In 614 A.D. the Persians occupying Jerusalem played havoc with the Christian world…. Within a year after this victory another conflict of a far greater historical consequence was going on in Makkah. The Muslims were fighting against the Quraysh the conflict had reached such a stage in 615A.D that a number of Muslims had to leave their homes etc

These were the conditions when this Surah of the Quran was sent down and its prediction was made, saying: “The Byzantines have been defeated. In the nearest land, But they, after their defeat, will overcome, Within three to nine years. To God belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice. In the victory of God. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.” It contained not one but two predictions: First the Romans shall be Victorious , and second, then Muslims also shall win victory at the same time.

When these verses of the Quran were sent down the disbelievers made great fun and Ubbay bin Khalef bet Abu Bakr ten camels if the Romans became victorious.

Muslims achieved a decisive victory at Badr for the first time against polytheists. The predictions made in surah Rum were fulfilled. Khusrau Parvez was imprisoned and 18 of his sons were executed.

After this no one could have any doubt about the truth of other prophecy of the Quran, with the result that many Arab polytheists accepted Islam.

Theme and Subject Matter
The introductory theme contains the great truth that man is accustomed to seeing only what is apparent and superficial. That which is behind the apparent and superficial he does not know.

The signs of the universe which has been presented as evidence to prove the doctrine of the hereafter are precisely the same which support the doctrine of Tawhid. Therefore the discourse turns to the affirmation of Tawhid and the refutation of shirk, and it is stressed that the natural way of life for man is none else but to serve Allah.

Here, a parable has been presented to make people understand that just as dead earth comes to life, all of a sudden, by a shower of rain sent by Allah SWT and swells with vegetation and plant life, so is the case with the dead humanity.

"None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself." (Bukhari)
Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him [Bukhari]
Whoever says 'Subhanallahi wabihamdihi' 100 times a day, his sins will be expiated even if they were like the foam of the sea. [Bukhari]

Question:

Imam Ibn Rajab al Hanbali and Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on them both) both had the same kunya. What is it?

If that's too difficult then name an interesting fact about either of these 2 scholars.
