Student finance has opened but the NHS bursary doesn't open until I think it's the 2nd of March

Yeah, I'm partially being swayed towards DMU now because of how long Leeds are taking and when I call them they're useless!

I called them today and asked about it and they just said it's with the admissions tutor, the same admissions tutor it's been with for the last month or so. What even is life. Obviously in the maybe pile or something! It'll be guttening to be rejected without even an interview.

I was just wandering if anyone new anything about deferring places? I am not definate on taking a gap, but i am considering it so i wanted to find out some more first. I have been offered a conditional place at Marjon and i am not sure if deferring is really allowed or if re applying next year would be my only option.
Just got an offer from MMU!! Yay! So pleased, didn't expect to hear back anytime soon!!!

I feel the same!! It's just frustrating not knowing - especially when we've got the predicted grades and our personal statements and all that have evidently been good enough to get us through to interviews of other unis!

I know what you mean about being swayed towards others though, it's a tough wait!

Most people have heard but I had my interview on the same day as you and still haven't heard. I contacted them and they said my application is on hold and they will update track as soon as the tutor has made a decision. Fingers crossed for us both

I was thinking about contacting them but didn't know if there was much point. Hopefully we will hear back soon!

Thank you! It was January 14th. I only just got the track email so maybe they are coming through slowly. I hope you hear something too

Forget about NHS bursary until you have end of this financial year salary figures (i.e. March payslips) as you need that information before you can complete the forms.

Congrats! Is it a favourite or do you have other preferred choices? (Only asking cos I am at MMU and will be joining 2015 intakes in some classes)

So when I'm applying for finance... If I need to lol... Do I put what the income I am earning now or not because I won't be earning that when I'm actually at university.

Oh really? That's cool! It definitely could be, I have an offer from Marjon too but no idea how to decide between them. I really liked both the unis and the course is good everywhere so :/ !!

Not sure what the rules are for "independent" applicants - I was straight from college so it was my mum's income that counted - the NHS bursary site is quite good though with the guides etc sure something there will help you.

Well good luck making your decision - it's nice to have a choice though - are they conditional offers? Same grades etc? At least last year I had offers on different grades so could put a firm and insurance - just in case.

I do the combined psychology/speech pathology degree at MMU so will be with 2015 intakes for the SLT unit I don't cover this year then finish my degree with you too.

After the 24th interview there's one more on the 11th of March - there's still a bit of hope for us yet!

Don't give up yet - Sheffield kept me (and a few others) hanging around in limbo last year but I got an interview eventually (should have saved the train fare though and not gone lol - it wasn't for me).

Leeds could be worth the wait though so keep the faith!

Yeah, it is. I'm applying with an access course and MMU actually has the highest entry requirements, out of the unis I have applied to anyway.

I see, so can you practise as a psychologist as well as a speech therapist? Or would psychology be your specialism as a speech therapist? Sounds like lots of work! You'll be mega employable by the end though!

Hi, I've just joined the Student Room after following it for a few weeks. I went to interviews for Sheffield on the 12th Jan, BCU on the 30th Jan and Leeds Met on the 4th Feb. Still waiting for decisions from Sheffield and Leeds Met, just wondering how many people are still waiting for decisions from them after interviews that long ago?

I had interviews mid-january and early feb, final one at Leeds Met this week and haven't heard back from any of the others yet!
