The Student Room Group

What do we think of Social Groups on TSR?

Hi guys,

Lately I've been thinking a lot about social groups (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/group.php) and their functionality (or lack of functionality). Would be great to hear what you guys think about Social Groups. I've made a quick Survey Monkey for you to fill in, and feel free to leave any further comments in this thread as well.

Thanks!

:yep: because the more data the better and these are all questions that should be answerable, even if the comment reads "no idea"
there should be more provision for people in their 20s ?
done
So

I took the survey

I have come back to TSR to see what I am missing

I still see no "social group" link

Is this just a joke?

ok

but without your link I still have no idea where these exist on TSR

no worries though

Edit found the link through the TenOfThem drop down menu

This is certainly something you do not want to popularise isn't it

If you use the drop down for your username on the menu bar, it's My Groups -> My Social Groups :h:

I agree though, this should be much more prominent :yep:

Don't be daft - people in their 20s don't join social groups!

It's still terrible survey design and is against MRS guidelines

:nope:

Forcing people to answer when they don't want to or don't think the answers fit them is likely to invalidate your data.

Ah well, luckily making surveys is not my day job.
I am in my 20s every group I join all I see in the group are just older people and I see no one in their 20s there and when I join other groups it is still the same thing with people in their 50s and 60s and nobody in their 20s there. It seems people in their 20s don't join any social groups. Why don't people in their 20s don't any social groups? I have got no friends and I also don't have a girlfriend. I never do meet people my own age.
I literally have no idea what social groups are I've never heard of them
Never even heard of a social group before.
So I've finally found out what a social group is...

Cool concept. Would have been nice if I knew about this before, though. Perhaps some advertisement is needed...
Done
