Beware of oppression, for oppression will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection

Waalaikumassalam

Islam has done wonders for me. When I pray or read the Quran I feel so god damn nice. Nothing else can make me feel that way.

Islam has obviously helped to stay level headed. At uni I see all these losers get drunk and have one night stands all the time. Alhamdulilah I don't engage in any of that wacky stuff because of my faith. I'm so thankful for being a Muslim.

Islam also encourages me to be kind to my parents. I was quite rude to my parents before I became more interested in Islam. Now I try to be as nice as I possibly can to my parents.

Islam also gives me a lot of hope. In this cruel world that we live in, where Muslims are oppressed and constantly mocked, it gives me hope knowing that better things are in store for us on the day of jugdement hopefully.

ASalam Alaikum WaRahmatullah.

Well, Islam is the reason why I wake up in the morning and attempt to live another day. It's the reason why I try to strive, resist, and persist as I seek my lord's beautiful face in the end. It is the reason why hope, joy and happiness settles into my heart. It's the reason why I'm not obssessed with this world, and it's deceiving temptations. Islam is truly the reason why I possess pride, yes I'm proud to be a slave of Allah despite the hate my religion gets. Islam is the reason why I release tears, and my heart is shaken by fear. For I fear the punishment.
It develops me as an individual, it's the perfect way of life subhanAllah. Islam is for me, I hope I am for Islam. I hope I can one day truly be the person my label asks me to be. Even after a dip, I like to rise back up. How amazing it is that we have such a wonderful Lord? Who cares for us and fends for us and promises to forgive us. If the world is against me and I have Allah, my heart will be sufficed with his love. For his love nourishes every dry vessel present in my body. And I really, do not need anyone else if I have Him.
Glory be to Him.
Being a slave of Allah is the best status to attain in the dunya.

And of course...Islam is the reason why I met a lovely sis like u x #Sisterhood he he xx

There was a time when Islamic Scholarship was a leading torch bearer of knowledge and a shining example to the world where the Scholars of this Ummah had mastered both Islamic knowledge and secular sciences producing some of the greatest minds and free-thinkers in human history that transformed societies and nations! People from all over the globe would look towards the Muslim world for guidance & progress in both religious and secular knowledge. Muslim civilizations flourished when the entire Ummah benefited from the diversity of the great works of our Scholars, and adapting & embracing foreign influences within the confines of the Sharia.

Today however the Ummah excels in secular sciences, we have Muslims leading in the field of medicine and engineering, but only a handful of open-minded Scholars that specialise both in Islamic knowledge and secular sciences. The narrow-mindedness of 'sectarianism' and 'appeal to authority' who may not be qualified to give verdicts in secular and foreign issues has left many to develop a strict-conservative Islam that hinders the very heritage & principles of our faith.

Then there are those who profess themselves as Muslims (which by definition means to submit to the Will of Allah), yet their liberal views leave everything to their intellects and whatever is the norm of the society becomes their religion even if it goes against the very basic teachings of Islam.

How can the Ummah ever revive the great legacy of the past and return back to the conservative yet liberal heritage of our Scholars?

Join Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi in this unique & inspiring talk as he performs 'bloodless brain surgery' of the Muslim mind unlocking our great legacy of a free-thinking Ummah through the lens of orthodox Islam.

An exhilarating talk not to me missed!!

Good talk. Change doesn't have to mean "progressive Islam".

SunhanAllah Beautiful Reminder. May our Lord give us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!

In the wake of a deadly shooting attack at a synagogue in Denmark last week, a group ofNorwegian Muslims intends to hold an anti-violence demonstration at an Oslo synagoguethis coming weekend by forming a “peace ring” around the building. One of the event organizers, 17-year-old Hajrad Arshad, explained that the intention was to make aclear statement that Muslims don’t support anti-Semitism.“We think that after the terrorist attacks in Copenhagen, it is the perfect time for us Muslims todistance ourselves from the harassment of Jews that is happening,” Arshad told the NorwegianBroadcasting Corporation NRK in an interview cited by The Local News website on Tuesday. She noted that the group aimed to “extinguish the prejudices people have against Jews andagainst Muslims.”The demonstration drew praise from the local Jewish community.Ervin Kohn, a leader of Oslo’s Jewish community, said the synagogue had agreed to allow theevent on the condition that at least 30 people turn up to help form a ring around the building, whichis located on Bergstien Street in the Norwegian capital.“I’ve said that it only comes to 30, it won’t be good, it may seem counter-productive,” he said. “Butif you fill Bergstien, it will be very good.”Arshad promoted the initiative as an event on Facebook, and by Wednesday morning over 630people had indicated that they would attend.“Islam is about protecting our brothers and sisters, regardless of which religion they belong to,” theevent page explains. “Islam is about rising above hate and never sinking to the same level as thehaters. Islam is about defending each other.”Another of the activists behind the drive wrote in an English-language comment on the event’spage that “if anyone wants to commit violence in the name of Islam you will have to go through usMuslims first.”
