Not quite. Its a driven system and so after the transient response dies away all of them will oscillate at the driving frequency (i.e. The natural frequency of the heavy ball) they will oscillate with amplitudes depending on how their respective natural frequency relates to the driving frequency.

Yeah I meant that the driving frequency will be the natural frequency for the thread with the same length so it will oscillate with greatest amplitude since maximum energy is absorbed and the amplitude of the other threads will essentially depend to how close their length is to that of the driving oscillation according to T = 2π(l/g)^0.5. I guess I just have to express myself more clearly

Why depressed? Mostly relief here if I'm honest lol

The last half year has been an emotional roller-coaster so now that that's all over its kind of anticlimatic and so the excess adrenaline and what not may be causing mood swings that result in crap moods. I'm experiencing that too

55% actually. So most of you fail. Since I was crazy enough to choose CS with maths, I'll probably be one of them.

I did mine by email? (St John's)

If it's not alright for your college, the worst they can do is say "please could you send a letter, actually?" I suppose!

Ayyeeeee me too

Actually ~66% (offer) fail rate, but from the point of view of who eventually is still let in then yes youre right

Thoughts on putting Imperial - A*AAA as insurance rather than Bristol - AAA?

Depends on what your Cambridge offer is

Everyone says Cambridge has 8 week terms. But then im also seeing pages where it says 27 week years or 30 week years. Since there are 3 terms, surely 8 week terms means there would be 24 weeks in the academic year.

To current students, how many weeks do you live in cambridge for?

Isn't there 1 week before and 1 week after full term? So if you add 1 of those weeks per term it would be 27 weeks per year and if you add both it would be 30. Full term is 8 weeks which gives 24.

So what happens in those 2 weeks (before & after). Are we supposed to be living in Cambridge during those times. Do we have lectures+ supervisions?
