What chance would I have of getting an offer for Economic History if I applied with below(I also would meet contextual data stuff);

Applied Business Studies (A-Level), Grade A(achieved),

Ifs Level 3 Diploma in Financial Studies (A-LevelEquivalent), Grade A(achieved),

Chemistry (A-Level predicted, AS obtained), Grade Aobtained, Grade A predicted,

Psychology (A-Level predicted, AS obtained), Grade Aobtained, Grade A predicted,

Mathematics (AS predicted), Grade B predicted,

Law (AS predicted), Grade A predicted,

Photography (AS), Grade D (achieved).

This would be after 3 years of study, however I would nothave spent more than 2 years studying an A-Level and no more than a year studying an AS-Level.

One of my class fellow he got rejected from lse in 2013 becoz his grades were low for AS.. however when he reapplied with actual grades he got accepted for economic history

Honestly? Nobody, and I truly mean nobody can tell you your chances of getting an offer from LSE. There are people in here with amazing grades who have been rejected by LSE so unless one of their Admissions Selectors posts in here then you are just going to have to roll the dice and see.

Maybe, but then could you imagine the number of "Do you think I would get an offer?" we would get in here?
In some ways, I do feel that it is a bit off that people who haven't even applied yet to LSE are in this particular thread asking if they would get an offer when there are people who have applied are either still waiting to receive a reply from LSE or who are coming to terms with a rejection from LSE. I think that they should start a 2016 LSE entry thread and use that.

I think its more aimed at people who have received offers, this is to get a general idea of what may be needed, even if specific circumstances aren't the same.

Shouldn't they be looking at the LSE website then? The website has all of the info about entry requirements and tips for writing a strong PS.
I have an offer from LSE yet there are people in here with the same and better grades than me who didn't get offers.
Like I said, nobody can say with any honesty or certainty if someone will or will not get or may or may not get an offer from LSE.

I know this but it can allow a general idea, and yes why the website is helpful I doubt a lot of people gain offers to the Economic History course with the "typical offer AAB"

Is there any reason Kings Econ & Management is A*AA but LSE Management is only AAB? I am definitely firming LSE, Kings was my 5th choice but I don't understand the difference?

Anyone?

Does it matter
Do you think that all offers have been given out now? and only rejections are to come?

Someone earlier posted that they give offers in March too?

Hello. I'm an international applicant too! I'll be honest I don't know much about the PPE course but I'm waiting for LSE to reply too so I can firm UCL!

Hi, why do you have to wait for the reply from LSE for that, you can withdraw that choice as well right?

Hello,

I received my offer from lse three weeks ago. Ucl had not answered me yet, so I decided to withdraw on Monday to firm LSE and apply for accommodation etc.

I prefer the LSE course, the extra year at the end for a project and the internship placement in summer looks interesting. Also, economics at lse is ranked extremely high and has amazing prestige throughout the world, definitely more so than ucl. I mean LSE is the place to do economics, and the fact that I am mostly interested in that aspect of the degree appeals to me. Ucl may have higher overall rankings but that is because it offers more courses: LSE is famous worldwide for economics.

Furthermore, LSE is more international than any other university in the UK. I really like that aspect of it, because I myself am an international applicant. I also hope to study for a masters in the usa, LSE being a good foundation for that.

The defining difference was prestige and international aspect, as well as job prospects and teaching quality.

Sorry for the long post

P.s. LSE appeals more to me, however I am not stating it is better for everyone and would completely understand if you were to prefer ucl. It really depends on what you look for at university, I believe.

Hi,
Thank you for your elaborate reply, really helpful!
Your reasons for picking LSE sound very clear and convincing, do you know anything about the LSE student life?
You wrote that you had withdrawn UCL so that you can apply for accommodation. How does that work? Do you need to choose one 'college' of the university of London before you can apply to accommodation? Because I'm also waiting on a reply from KCL for PPE.

I guess King's is just trying to come across as more competitive and they just set higher requirements so that they make their course look better in the eyes of applicants compared to LSE, for ex; even though they are pretty far away from LSE standards.

I believe the stereotype of lse being less social or less fun than other universities is untrue. It still is a place where thousands of young people are brought together, there is bound to be people who share your interest. Also, you're in London and I'm planning on socialising with ucl/kcl as I know people going to both.

Well, if you firm LSE you choose five halls run exclusively by LSE and three intercollegiate or shared halls which all university of London members share. You can choose to go to either solely lse accommodation or mixed.

Good luck with Kcl!

Hi, I'm from Romania and I'll be taking the UGAA too. However, I will sit the exam at my high school rather than LSE. Any special preparation you are doing for this exam ?
