She has expressed clearly that it is 1. because of religion and 2. because of her parents. She has not mentioned any kind of cultural factors, only those two things.

Inherited religion is poison to the mind, people need to think for themselves.

Nope you can find a person of you're liking and have dates, but sex etc is haram. Most muslim's don't have arranged marriage it's more of an asian culture.

No , i understand and do care that i am sinning, but you cant control your heart and the way it feels for other people.Like the guy i am with now, i cant help my feelings for him, i love him so much because he cares and understands me and its vice-versa. It depends on the guy you like.

Truth be told, I'd imagine the OP would have a harder time getting the guy to go out with her if he isn't Muslim. What with the hysteria surrounding Islam and Muslim communities in the West. 95 percent chance he hates Islam/Muslims with a passion.
