I don't understand how anyone can see a decapitated body and see that as morally acceptable. Those are not the sort of people I want living in civilised society. It is probably best for them to go somewhere less civilised.

I don't believe for one second that these girls have gone to join IS in Syria. I'm not going to waste my time discussing how they couldn't have got past all the security to get into Syria.

I just can't think of them as terrorists. I just think they are stupid girls, who have walked into a hellhole that will be like nothing they could have dreamt up in their worst nightmares. Their lives are going to be a horror and I pity them, I pity them the same way I do any of the women ISIS fighters pluck from their homes and turned into brides. I just think they'll be begging for death in a few months.

Well they are. As soon as they crossed the border they became terrorists. They abandoned their loving family to follow a cancerous sect of Islam. They made that choice, they must now live with the consequences of their actions.

That may be true but the three young women were described as 'straight A' students so they're not that dumb. They've been raised in Britain so considering the society here they must have learned some critical thinking skills and some objectivity? They are presumably computer literate so have access to the vile atrocities ISIS commit in the name of Allah. This all tells me they wanted it and have a good idea what to expect. Perhaps they view joining ISIS as a kind of heroic Islamic adventure which will provide a more tangible justification of their faith and an antidote to feeling somewhat at odds with mainstream British values.

I have no sympathy for them - they're old enough to know better and I hope they get blown to shreds like the rest of them. They're clearly of absolutely no value to society.

How on earth can one think there is parity in that comparison? The terror of girls snatched from the security of their families with the three that willingly volunteer. No comparison at all actually. In fact I would say that is a very insensitive comment with regard to all those taken as war booty to be enslaved, made to convert, married, raped, sold as sex slaves . . . What is most sad for me is these poor victims are as young as 9 (and what about the even younger ones - what do they do with them?). That the girls would even contemplate joining such a merciless cold-hearted outfit is an aberration against everything good, decent and humane.

They are children who have been groomed. They have been sold an extremely glamorised image of war. I'm sure they'll be shocked on arrival but it'll be too late. I feel very sorry for them.

I was talking about 'jihadi brides' taken from muslim houses, not women they have taken as slaves, not like the Yazidi women. And I say that because their lives won't be any different. The only difference will be where they came from.

Surely the experience of anyone taken from their home without choice to be an ISIS jihadi bride (whether Muslim or not) is considerably worse than that of a willing volunteer?

There's no point agonising over where they are and whether they are ok or still alive. If they are still alive then they are probably already ISIS sex slaves. They chose to go there, let them stay out there. Let them die out there. No skin off my nose.

Why is our government so desperate for them to come back?

We spend millions on surveillance of jihadis and millions were spent just on bringing legal cases to deport Qatada and Hamza, yet when four jihadis leave of their own free will we're desperate to get them back here. Are we insane?

These women sicken me. They are old enough to know what ISIS are doing and be able to do reasoned research yet they have chosen to betray their state.

These women like all terrorists deserve nothing but death.

..

I personally find it very hard to view Islamists as people and the reality is that we are all but in a holy war. While i'd normally want such people prosecuted, i shan't lose any sleep if they take a bullet to the head or an air strike.

Wives complain they aren't valued whoever they are married to.

Why do you care about the satisfaction of these girls marriages anyway? These girls who gleefully endorse the actions of the most detestable members of Homo Sapiens. How are they any better if they want to marry them? Where does your sympathy for these Jihadi's come from? I hope all those in IS and anyone who affiliates themselves with it meet the same fate as that they have dealt to their captives.
