Creative Direction for Fashion @ LCF 2015

Hey fellow users of The Student Room! I was just wondering whether or not there's anyone here that's applied to the Creative Direction for Fashion course at London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London) for September 2015?

I received an email earlier today and they're asking for a portfolio submission of 8-12 finished pieces that represent my best work and I'm kind of confused on the approach I should take in terms of the portfolio. Do I put more work of a certain medium (photography and drawing, for example) if I'm stronger at that area or should I go for a more varied direction?

I know I should probably go for the latter but I've only been exposed to certain media so I'm buggered if I'm supposed to have 12 finished pieces of 12 different media :/

I've applied and sent off my eportfolio the other day! I tried to submit more varied work, I'm on an art foundation specialising in fashion promotion at the moment so luckily they kind of try and prepare you for these portfolios - photography and styling is my strongest area but I've included a couple of pieces of illustration too just to show what else I can do - I wouldn't worry about trying to submit tons of different media, just choose pieces you're most confident about!
Heya! I got an email today for an portfolio interview in Feb :biggrin: the email told us to bring an edited version of our online e-portfolio, including 8-12 finished pieces, I am assuming those are the ones in our e-portfolio but to bring other final outcomes as well, anyone else got interview dates yet?

I just got my interview too wooo! :tongue: 26th feb, yeah I'm going to take extended versions of what I sent them and my sketchbook etc. It said my interview would show in Track for me to accept it but it hasn't yet?

Has anyone had their interview yet or know what kind of format it takes as i feel really unprepared and mine is on friday

I thought it went quite well but I got a rejection email yesterday! Really disappointed because it seemed like they were interested in my work, but I was really nervous and I think that came across in my interview. They said they are considering me for alternative courses though so I guess that's good, I just have to wait now.

Wow you got results already? They told me we'll be notified within 2-3 weeks time
I got notified exactly a week after the interview, which I am glad about because I swear I was stressing so hard!

Yeah me too! I think they just knew I was suitable for a different course? They said they'll be in touch asap with an alternative course offer. Sucks because I thought creative direction was for me!!

I got this email to from styling and production.. Is it just a kind rejection or is it hopeful? Seems unfair having to wait like this.

I got it from Styling and Production too! So disappointed but yes apparently they do consider everyone for alternative courses, I've done research into it and they only totally reject you if there are no other possible courses that you are suited to. But I don't think there's really any others I would be interested in, the ones I thought I would fit into are what I applied for!
are you going to accept the offer? i got an offer for fashion styling and production which was my first choice :smile:

I emailed him today asking for feedback and an insight into what he thinks I am better suited to! I got accepted into my other uni choice today so as soon as that comes through ucas, I might just cancel my LCF choice instead of waiting around for something that might never happen. we will see !

Yeah I emailed them too for feedback! Apparently they can send you your interview form with all their notes on it! Yeah I got accepted to Brighton which was my next choice but I'd hate to cancel LCF and never know what was going to happen or what they might've offered me aaaaghso stressful

I got Creative direction for fashion and fashion marketing but I am still thinking which course is best for me:frown:
