Why doesn't blood accumulate at the arterioles??

Arterioles are just smaller arteries...unless they are clogged or damaged the blood will keep flowing through them.

I'm not entirely sure , so don't quote me , but I think it's because of the arterioles' muscular walls.They Have these muscular walls as the blood , they recieve is under high pressure.
Check the marking scheme of the paper.

Arterioles split into many capillaries so the flow of blood also splits between the many capillaries and doesn't accumulate in the arteriole
mark scheme says:
1. Many / more capillaries (than arterioles);
2. (Cross-sectional) area of capillaries (much) greater (than of arterioles).
