Oic, I applied for the MChem one. So does that mean if I can't get 50 % or above in the first year, I can't stay at UOM in second year. Is that right? Or we have one chance to redo one year?

Handmade Turnip's spot on with everything he's said in his reply. You can also retake some exams in September a couple of weeks before the start of the next year, but there are some limits to this. I can't remember the exact conditions, but the gist of it is you can't fail everything in the first year and then retake it all the following September.

Oops sorry I meant management! I just said business to refer to all the business-related courses as a whole.

I assumed that it isn't competitive as the entry requirements are quite low as compared to say the physics department.

The physics department is unusually high, not only for Manchester but for Russell Group physics courses too.

For straight management, last year the course had 762 applications for 115 places. http://mbs.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/management/ The figures vary slightly between different specialisms, but they are all competitive.

It gives you the option of Greater Manchester or Manchester - Manchester is the area that's most relevant to you. It feels very diverse, particularly around areas like Chinatown, Longsight and the Curry Mile.

I was the university of Surrey, I can't remember exactly what the offer was but I remember that it was higher than the BSc offer from Manchester that I could get bumped down onto, so it was pretty pointless.

UoB or uni of Manchester for international business? Only thing that's drawing me towards manchester slightly is the city and its nightlife but I'd also love the campus feel of Birmingham a lot its so nice with it all being students walking around, any advice on which uni to go for?

I've received an unconditional offer for BEconSc from Manchester Uni and I've put it in my insurance. How do I go about guaranteeing accommodation for Manchester if I don't meet my firm?

You just have to apply for accommodation before August 31st, though the sooner the better.

Everyone at Manchester (firm, insurance or clearing) is guaranteed a place in halls so long as they apply by the deadline.

If you prefer the course at Birmingham and you have a good gut feeling about it - go there. There's good nightlife in both cities - I'm sure you'll be happy in Birmingham.

Well done!I might put them as insurance too(If Warwick reject me and I put Nottingham as my firm).
