Baps, rolls or cobs, interchangeable in my family
bread bun
I'd call them a teacake if I had my way, That's the name most commonly used in the area of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire I'm from.
However, for my wife to understand what I mean, I usually call them bread rolls.

I thought tea cakes were a sort of fruit bun? Eaten at, er, tea?

Rolls or buns, and I'm from Yorkshire if that makes any different
Never heard them being referred to as cobs
