Awesome  I don't really get the time for video games these days really...

Well it's easy for us gods - all I have to do is put a little lightning down somewhere and make sure the other gods don't try killing each other:rolleyes:

My goodness, what a great thread!

I honestly don't know where to begin. I've been here nearly 10 years now [] so I've seen lots of changes, lots of people come and go, and lots of memories. I am friends with many "old school" subscribers like myself on Facebook, and there are a few long-term couples that first met on here, so yeah, this site is more than you think!

Memories? Too many to list. I think Scrabble-gate, from an early Manchester subs' meet possibly tops the lot. (only ancient people like me will remember that!). Lots of good memories from different subs' meets and LGBT soc meets too.

Such a shame the site has gone completely downhill since Acumen took over. It's far too commercialised now.
I first posted a couple of years ago, lurked from time to time for a few years before I posted.

I've seen some funny threads, sometimes people make very good jokes and it can also be an interesting place to debate ideas, although it tends to get repetitive as a relatively small number of regulars tend to make the same points over and over.

In a way, TSR is like memories of college. When you are in the first couple of years, you seem to have loads of adventures and exciting happenings. Then serious work really bites and by the time you graduate, the exciting times start to become happy memories and you feel wistful and wish you were back there. :cry2: That seems to be how 'old timers' feel about TSR. The early days are the best. :yep:
Joined 2008. I really miss the old Scandinavian Studies thread and the people who used to post in it. I miss GUD and the little communities in the university sub-forums, nearly all of them are gone now. I certainly don't miss neg rep or imso.

What's imso?

Anyway, I joined last year in May upon recommendation of one of my best friends on here spotify95 because I was frustrated at the low standards of Digital Spy's forums and I also wanted to contribute to the count to a million thread and start my own variants like the minus million one. :h:
I have so many memories from the GCSE chat thread!

When Jayieko claimed he was the best at year 11 Mathematician in the UK.

I found this really funny at the time: on the year 11 chat thread we were talking about careers, one user, who had a monkey as her profile picture said that she wanted to be a zoologist. Following this, another user said "this is very ambitious coming from a monkey". PLEASE CAN SOMEONE ELSE CONFIRM THIS IS HILARIOUS?! Apparently it wasn't at the time...
I've been here for too long.

I have far too many memories to share here that I've also simultaneously forgotten them all. Easily the most actually memorable, well - when drink wasn't taking an effect - are the various mod meets. Those were fun. Memories on site are probably less fond, but it was nice being involved with a few changes and getting stuff done behind the scenes. Let's just never bring back GD. I suppose also the trolls were of a higher calibre, kids don't even feel the need to try these days. Back when trolls were funny :moon:

Users I miss? There's a couple of people here and there I used to chat to who have left I occasionally wonder what they're up to. Any features I miss? Flashy rep gem. It was snatched from me :emo: And as far as rep is concerned, I miss the culture of adding a message with each rep message rather than the clinical "post received a positive rating."

I feel your pain - mine was also snatched from me :sadnod:

:console:
How long have you been on TSR? :shakecane:

Since January 2009, though I did have an account prior to that which I rarely (if ever) used.

What are some of the most memorable moments of being a user? :groovy:

There have been many across all of the threads I've posted in during my time here. I'm not really sure what I would say is most memorable but probably the HOC meet back in 2010. Visiting TSR's offices in London was fairly interesting if just to put some faces to the names.

Any features of TSR or users that you miss, and why?

There are many users I can think of that at some point in my time here I spoke to a lot and who have now moved on. I won't mention any names but I will raise a glass for my fallen comrades. I have to agree with the people who say there is far less "community" on here now but such is the nature of things.

With regards to features, like many people I miss the old rep system (neg, messages with reps, disco gems and the black gem) and I also liked being able to choose what colour TSR would be. I was a green TSR user and it took me ages to get used to having it like it is now.

I'm sorry m'lady, you weren't supposed to go on that link. :colondollar:

Sometimes I read old threads, I wasn't disappointed with that one.
