Accounting and finance

I was planning to do accounting and finance course at university but first I want a review about from someone who has done this course

Plss aha just want to know
It completely depends where you want to go. Each course will be slightly different. Where are you planning to go? I can tell you a bit about my course, but not much point if you aren't coming anywhere near my uni hahaha.

Sure thing.

I go to the University of Aberdeen and I'm in my second year of joint honours accounting and finance. I absolutely love it.

At UoA, the first year is spent covering the basics of the business school. All first years sit a microeconomics class and a macroeconomics class. Accounting and finance students sit a finance, risk and investment class in their first semester, an accounting course based on the theory of accounting and the profession in their first semester and then their second semester has the first accounting class that actually involves numbers. This is a financial and management accounting class, introducing students to the basics of both. Students must also sit a management class in their second semester.

This leaves 30 credits free across the year, 15 in each semester. The university recommends you keep them within the business school to broaden your opportunities in second year. I chose to do management in my first semester and a statistics class in the second semester. The statistics class has proved INCREDIBLY useful for second year.

Second year starts to get a little more specialised, although you still have some free credits to play with in your first semester.
First semester of second year for me looked like this:
Management Accounting
Business Finance (heavily maths based)
Personal Investment (heavily theory based)
Land and Property Law (I chose this one as my extra class, the other 3 were compulsory).

I'm just about at the end of my second semester (only have exams to go now) and it has looked like this:
Financial Accounting
Statistics
Financial Markets & Regulation
Business Law

I much preferred the first semester, but this one isn't exactly awful.

Third year is when my classes will be strictly accounting and finance classes. I'll have less classes that are more heavily weighted in terms of credits. All third and fourth year classes will go towards my final classification.

The course staff for accounting and finance are INCREDIBLY helpful. Accounting can be one of those things that just seems like utter gibberish until someone explains it slightly differently and the staff are always willing to make time for you to help your understanding.

I'm not sure what you want to know exactly, but if you have any questions at all then fire away .

I've only had to do one presentation thus far, and will have no presentations in any of my future courses.
