But it's probably that those who care most post most and since they care more they do more to succeed. So by that logic all of you should get offers. So now I demand statistics for last year's equivalent group.

Over to you for that exercise!
Although I would think the stats will be similar for the reason you give. If someone is actively interested and engaged in the process it IS more likely they will get in.
