I hope I find out today or tomorrow as I'm off work. Otherwise I'll be spending the whole day not knowing :s-smilie:

Well this is nervewracking. I was playing Skyrim but now all I can think about is waiting on a response o_o. Guess I'll kill some more dragons to pass the time... *nervous laughter*

Haha, I've recently become obsessed with Dragon Age, so I get what you mean. I need distractionsss. I'm anxiously awaiting the last exam day to finally buy Inquisition...

I recently bought GTAV which I've been playing non stop. It works pretty well as a distraction.
So I just messed up on a quest to kill some woman in Windhelm and I had to ride a horse halfway to Riften while being chased by several bears, wolves, guards, and a dragon :l

And to top it all off one of my followers is now bugged and keeps talking to me every few seconds.

Maybe now isn't the best time to be playing this...

Joining this thread a little late, I applied for first year as well and my friend got an offer at noon today, I'm so happy for her but so nervous waiting to hear back! Think I'll take a leaf out of your books and go kill something in Monster Hunter to pass the time. Good luck everyone!
Uh... I just looked at the label on my portfolio and the guy who filled in my UCAS ID put the last number down wrong...

D'you think they'll have realised?

I don't think it'll matter, they said to me that they double check the UCAS applications so if they haven't contacted you by now I'm sure it wont be a problem

Ha, good ol' Skyrim. At least that follower talks, Vilkas tried to kill me when I turned into a werewolf, so much for loyalty. :I
But hey, maybe that little misfortune will balance itself by you getting an offer. In such case, I might want to go and screw something up in-game too.

You'd think after what happened with Kodlak, he'd be a little more decent. :/

If messing up Skyrim increased my chances of getting an offer, I'd start a massive fight. Attack a Jarl or something. Heh.

Honestly, he's such a hypocrite. Too bad for him, he's dead now.

Yep, that'd be a good idea. I tried killing Ulfric once to claim my place at the throne, but unfortunately Skyrim doesn't have that option. :c Guess I'll have to settle with having killed the emperor.

Not to stray too far away from the topic, have you guys thought about which course you'd like to undertake after Foundation?

I'd love to do the Animation degree, it's the only school I applied to because theirs is so comprehensive. How about you?

And congrats Rivvies!

Nice! Maybe we'll be in a class together if we both get in. I have friends studying at different levels of the animation degree just now and the work they've been doing looks like a lot of fun

Yeah I have a friend in her final year right now, It looks like hard work but I feel like it would be really great! And there are lots more opportunities for work with animations, compared to other types of art.

Again, well done!

We're on the same boat then, I'd love to do animation. <: I began to be fascinated by it just a month or so before the application deadline, so my application for that to Edinburgh was happy-go-lucky, really. I heard animation in Dundee is good too, but I never really heard many details about the course despite searching - do you know anything specific?
I've also dug out another university, Teesside, which has been said to be good with animation and visual effects, so that's another option.

Aw nice! That's really exciting, I hope we all get in.

I know that in the second semester of first year you specialise in either art or design, and that you get 3 communication design modules (Graphic design, Animation and Illustration) and you can decide whether you do one of each, 2 of one and 1 of another or just all three in the same subject. It's to help you decide what's best for you.

I think in second year you do a bit of everything then you have more of a choice as to what you do in 3rd and 4th year, and in 4th year you choose two things to specialise in. So like my friend is doing a concept art book for her 4th year and I think also a comic? But I'm not sure. 2nd year is the only time you're forced to do things like 3D if you don't want to as far as I know, because they want you to try everything. You also get to help out on student films in the years above. In 3rd year you get to do the Comics module, I don't know much else about it apart from that though. :P More helping out with student films, I think you also make a very short film with a group of people but you do that in first year too.

Oh and the 4th year animators organise DeeCon, which is really cool. Anyone can participate and it's held in Spring every year.

Btw Ashling has just wrapped up her 3rd year, she still has a year left. I don't know her personally but she's good friends with my (hopefully) roommates for next year. (Sorry if that's what you meant by final year!)

I just realised my mistake ahah! She's in the same year as my friend who I for some reason thought was in her final year :P
