Welcome to the MHoC Awards!

You have had your say!
It's now time to reveal our MHoC Award Winners of the 20th Parliament.

1. Most Excellent Debaterthe member whose sheer wit and dazzling persuasion have left you in absolute awe.

This was a closely fought contest, testament to the quality of debate we have enjoyed over the last 6 months.

The Most Excellent Debater of the Parliament is:
RayApparently

2. Most Impressive New Arrivala member who, though unheard of six months ago, has made the best impression since then.

By a landslide, the Most Impressive New Arrival is:
CescaD96

3. Best Legislationa showstopping tract of legalese that made you go all weak at the knees.

The award for Best Legislation goes to:
B724 - Sovereign Wealth Fund Bill 2014

4. Drunkard of the Commons Barthe drink lover who gave their best Eric Joyce impression.

Another tight vote, and just pipping TehFrance to the post, the Drunkard of the Commons Bar award goes to:

Mobbsy91

5. Ms/r Congenialitythe nicest member of the House.

With over 80% of the vote, the award of Ms Congeniality goes to:

Kittiara

6. Speaker's Award (AKA Order of Gladstone)an honorary award for the member who's most caught my eye.

Two members have particularly caught my eye this term from across the political divide.
Both have been active debaters and legislation machines behind the scenes.

For that reason, I jointly award the Order of Gladstone () to:

RayApparently and Nigel Farage MEP.

7. MHoC Member of the DecadeThe greatest member to grace the MHoC in it's 10 year history.

The House has seen many interesting characters over the years.
From a shortlist of the MHoC's most famous, the MHoC Member of the Decade goes to:

Rakas21
Our longest-serving PM, Conservative stalwart and all round MHoC legend!

Congratulations to our winners, and commiserations to other nominees.
MHoC Awards will return in 6 months.

Now time to hit the Commons Bar for some celebratory drinks!

I'm glad to see Conservatives winning in three categories! It's a great result, though one I've sadly not contributed to other than by voting.

It also seems fair to mention that the credit for the winning Sovereign Wealth Fund Bill 2014 belongs mainly to The Financier, who is its original author.

All well deserved, and no complaints.
I had 2 bills in there, the only thing I wasn't nominated for was newbie but I had a nomination for that last term.

Probably was a result of split voting.

Huge thanks to everyone who voted for me (I'm surprised to have won to be honest) - I'm really chuffed! 'Excellent Debater' is a great honour.

Commiserations to those who missed out - there where lots of very deserving nominees for all the awards and a hearty congratulations to the winners - I think they're very well deserved.

I'm knackered today so will probably turn in early, but drinks are on me in the bar!

I hereby thank you all for voting me member of the decade albeit that was the one i never expected to win, i suppose it shows the range of reasons people vote.

I hereby thank-you all also for voting B724, Financier did the hard work (indeed he came second for another bill last term) however i suppose i'd call myself the secondary author because i suggested a lot of the policies in it.

..

(Me celebrating)

Because of his username it's hard to give RayApparently an award without sounding a bit surprised that he's won it.

Also, big up the SWF bill and congrats to all winners.
