Hey!
And I revise just reading and walking around the house reciting it! I wouldn't recommend my way but it works for me because I can remember numbers really well - me and numbers go together xD
I got 178 last year... Don't get me started. I got 100 in Russia then due to lack of any teaching or help, I got 78 in my other unit.
Anyway, UMS from AS doesn't matter xD. You could scrape 2 Bs in the exam at AS and still have the same chance of getting an A* as someone who got 100% overall at AS! A high UMS at AS only helps you get an A overall not an A*.
Here's how I worked i it out:
You need 320 UMS and 180 to get an A* right.
So: assuming you got 140 UMS last year (scrape B). You need 180 UMS on the dot to get an A*. (Because 180+140=320) History coursework is worth 80 UMS overall so if you got full marks, you only need 100 to get the 180 UMS required for an A*. The exam is out of 120 UMS so (100/120)x100=83.3333%
To find this in terms of marks, assume that 96 UMS is for 80% of the paper (which is generally being quite harsh considering the grade boundaries are slightly more lenient than that in general). The whole paper is out of 70 therefore 70x0.8333=58.33333 marks which is basically 59 ish.
