Edexcel A2 6GP03 June 2015 Topic B: Introducing Political Ideologies

I feel exactly the same. I remember last year left revision really late and didn't do that bad. I NEED AN A THIS YEAR THOUGH FOR BOTH UNI CHOICES. OMGGGG.
I'm going to do Nationalism today, I went through ecologism but can't remember a thing. I still need to do anarchism ahhhhh so much to do and I don't even get study leave

which ones are you revising and how is revision going?

Cons, Lib and Anarchism as socialism is so ****ing long. If your doing other ideological traditions as well then fem, nat and ecologism. Mixed feelings. Its quite easy to get the marks imo but making the notes from Heywood is what is taking me so long. Left it so late.

Checked the edexcel mark converter and an A* in recent years has never been above 71/90 for introducing ideologies and 68/90 for other ideological traditions, which is comforting.

Has anyone got a comprehensive list of all the questions they could ask for each ideology? Finding it a struggle to put together something which could help me revise and practice exam questions simultaneously. Cheers

You are doing the exact ideologies as me! I am missing out Socialism because of time tbh. Exam is in less than a month

I should have started in Jan. I can't believe I have left it so late Haven't even started unit 4 and the Uni i want to go to require an A for this subject. I am screwed?
How much notes have you made and also...do you know how to layout the answers for the 45 marker?

How is everyone feeling about this subject?

Can't believe how quick the exam is coming.

I'm kind of stuck now with revision, I did the bulk of it the beginning of the year and now I'm just going over and over the same things which I know - but I don't want to get cocky over it.

What ideologies are you learning for Unit 3

If you can write fast- 1.5 to 2 sides of A4 with relevant knowledge from Heywood will get you close to full marks.

Going to use this question as an example; on what grounds have liberals defended constitutionalism?

-Define the key words in the question; i.e. constitutionalism.
-Gov sovereignty threatening the individual. Liberal fear of power as ind's are self-seeking. Lord Acton quote.
-External constraints on gov. Define constitution and explain how it promotes the limitation of power. Examples; US constitution, all but 3 liberal democracies have codified ones.
-Bill of rights entrenches ind rights. Examples; First 10 amendments of the US const and the "Declaration of the rights of man".
-Importance of statue law through "rule of law" in constraining govs without a codified constitution.
-External checks on gov- Montesquieu's separation of powers. Example: US political structure.
-Other external checks- devolution, federalism, cabinet gov, parliament
- Social contract theory- power arises from below. Locke- protection of "life, liberty and property" is the purpose of government.

This is pretty much how I do my 15 markers. Spam with relevant knowledge. If you can't write fast then this method may not be as efficient.
