I feel exactly the same. I remember last year left revision really late and didn't do that bad. I NEED AN A THIS YEAR THOUGH FOR BOTH UNI CHOICES. OMGGGG.
I'm going to do Nationalism today, I went through ecologism but can't remember a thing. I still need to do anarchism ahhhhh so much to do and I don't even get study leave

If you don't get study leave just stop going to lessons if you don't really need to. Teachers have to understand that sometimes individuals work best by themselves. They won't stop you if you have a good argument of why you don't want to go to lessons. If they say no just do it anyway...
Well I'm definitely not ready for this exam, nor unit 4...

I was leaving Politics thinking oh I'll be fine and working on the others. It only hit me last night that I barely get Bs on questions (B is what I need). Last year was so much easier :frown:
I saw something about Skype sessions, I'd be up for that if others are too!

which ones are you revising and how is revision going?

Cons, Lib and Anarchism as socialism is so ****ing long. If your doing other ideological traditions as well then fem, nat and ecologism. Mixed feelings. Its quite easy to get the marks imo but making the notes from Heywood is what is taking me so long. Left it so late.

Checked the edexcel mark converter and an A* in recent years has never been above 71/90 for introducing ideologies and 68/90 for other ideological traditions, which is comforting.

You are doing the exact ideologies as me! I am missing out Socialism because of time tbh. Exam is in less than a month:frown:

I should have started in Jan. I can't believe I have left it so late:frown: Haven't even started unit 4 and the Uni i want to go to require an A for this subject. I am screwed?
How much notes have you made and also...do you know how to layout the answers for the 45 marker?

Hi all,

Has anyone got a comprehensive list of all the questions they could ask for each ideology? Finding it a struggle to put together something which could help me revise and practice exam questions simultaneously. Cheers

Here are some for multiculturalism that I came across on this forum -

Short ones:
1. Why have conservatives criticised multiculturalism?
2. Same as above but - liberals/feminists
3. Distinguish between identity politics and multiculturalism.
4. Why has cosmopolitanism challenged multiculturalism?
5. On what grounds have multiculturalists defended minority rights?
6. Explain the link between multiculturalism and communitarianism.
7. Is multicuturalism compatible with the idea of individual rights?

Long Questions:
1. To what extent is multiculturalism compatible with liberal democracy?
2. To what extent is multiculturalism compatible with liberalism?
3. Is multiculturalism opposed to individualism?
4. How does multiculturalism justify the flourishing of separate cultural identities within the modern nation-state?
5. To what extent has multiculturalism been discredited?
6. 'Multiculturalism is the cause of, not the cure for, cultural conflict.' Discuss.

Haven't started unit 4 at all either.

45 marker.

Intro- Present your argument and conflicting line of argument, referencing key themes that you will discuss. Bit of origins and development won't hurt either, if its relevant.

Para 1- Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link back to question using the wording of the question. Include as many political thinkers as possible and use key words.

Nothing else to it tbh.

Conclusion- Summarise your argument and answer the question.
How is everyone feeling about this subject?

Can't believe how quick the exam is coming.

I'm kind of stuck now with revision, I did the bulk of it the beginning of the year and now I'm just going over and over the same things which I know - but I don't want to get cocky over it.

Completely missed out nationalism as I HATED that subject D:

What worries me is that on both politics exams I have another exam!!!

what structure does everyone use for the 15 markers- to gain maximum marks?

If you can write fast- 1.5 to 2 sides of A4 with relevant knowledge from Heywood will get you close to full marks.

Going to use this question as an example; on what grounds have liberals defended constitutionalism?

-Define the key words in the question; i.e. constitutionalism.
-Gov sovereignty threatening the individual. Liberal fear of power as ind's are self-seeking. Lord Acton quote.
-External constraints on gov. Define constitution and explain how it promotes the limitation of power. Examples; US constitution, all but 3 liberal democracies have codified ones.
-Bill of rights entrenches ind rights. Examples; First 10 amendments of the US const and the "Declaration of the rights of man".
-Importance of statue law through "rule of law" in constraining govs without a codified constitution.
-External checks on gov- Montesquieu's separation of powers. Example: US political structure.
-Other external checks- devolution, federalism, cabinet gov, parliament
- Social contract theory- power arises from below. Locke- protection of "life, liberty and property" is the purpose of government.

This is pretty much how I do my 15 markers. Spam with relevant knowledge. If you can't write fast then this method may not be as efficient.
ive got a list of predictions that im 60percent sure will come up

anarchism is closer to socialism then it is to liberalism 45

how is liberalism linked to rationalism and what are implications 15

in what sense do socialists have a positive view of human nature 15

Be careful here - all of what you've said is great stuff but some of it (bill of rights, separation of powers etc.) goes into the 'how' have liberals supported which is not what the question asks.
