TSR community staff believe that 'negativity' is bad and unacceptable (and not just a part of normal human discourse, critique and expression) and so removed it to spare the feelings of poor dears who couldn't cope with being negged.
Basically, they're away with the fairies when it comes to managing social behaviour and expectations.

They aren't trolls man. They were people who made day to day life funny on this forum. Back then this was just about people feeling depressed and talking about their sad feelings. The negged people would come up and post a funny comment and make another reader happy. Those were the days!
