I'll start it off by a pathetic fallacy quote, "the fog had scarcely allowed any daylight to penetrate the foul gloom of the atmosphere..." (Page 22,Chapter 2) - obv depending on which book you have :P
This basically forebodes the terrible events that are yet to come.
