For 12(i) I put 56/12 rather than 14/3, will I lose a mark because I forgot to simplify it?

2+2root11 / 5 or 4+4root11 / 10

Yes same! It didn't want us to sub it into the expression for the length did it? It just wanted what x is?

It just wanted x.
Anyone remember the binomial expansion question? (?x-?)^4

(3x-2)^4

(3x-2)
Ugh got te triangle wrong then I got something with 176 in it I think woops.

Maybe I should try and improve at C2 then to make up for this xD

probs i cant remember everything bro. i know i got it right because i got 5 for the last question which was right i know that.

im mid way through my markscheme i will be about 30 minutes guys

Can you include how many marks each question was worth? Thanks. Also I put min point as (-2,9) because I forgot to multiply by 3. Do you know how many marks this would lose 😁

THATS RIGHT, the answers in this thread are just simplified.

If you did the quadratic formula you got rt176 which cancels to 4rt11

This is probably right, if you got (4+sqrt(176))/10 this is correct

i need help, question 7 on the june 2012 paper. How do you do this? i used the quadratic formula but obviously found the points it intercepts the x axis.... this is the only question i got wrote. thanks

q7.gif

If this is the question you are on about. It's pretty simple. Simplify the equation if you want.

a) Use F'(X) and substitute in x (4) to find the gradient of said point which is parallel to the tangent in which you substitute that gradient into y=mx+c. Then use (4,-1) as Y and X to find C. The rearrange it to make it ax+by+c=0.

b) Well... just integrate it, then use the points to find c...
81x^4 - 216x^3 + 216x^2 -96x +16 I think was the binomial
I got that aswell.

Really?
Because I tried simplifying and it didn't work lol
I am guessing you guys done the paper. I oddly found 1b) and the last question to be the hardest. Bloody surds and coordinate geometry. However, found most of the paper relitively easy betting I lost around 4 marks on 1b and 10 from q10. Assuming I got no method marks.

manexopi is right 176 was inside the squared root bit.
#almost done will post after my history exam
On the earlier question of (25/9)^-1/2 I only put 3/5 instead of + or -
I'll probably lose a mark won't I

By that you mean k>14/3 ? That's what I got

Posted from TSR Mobile

k<-14/3
When you switch the minus you have to switch the sign so > becomes <

Oh phew yeah that's what I got
