If i have the same final answers as Arsey, and obviously did working out during exam, should i just assume i got full marks on each question i got right? i can only remember my final answers.
Worst case scenario around 70. Best probably 72. Made some silly mistakes... C2 will hopefully be a nicer paper...

how many marks do you think i'd drop for drawing the sketch (q8b) 9x-4x^3 the wrong way round but correct (3) coords?

A tip for the future, if you ever need it. The y intercept for that line was +1 if you remember. So if it was on the negative side, there would be no way it could cut the y intercept on. If you get what I mean

Explain that to me! is that because p^2-6p+1>0? So the intercept was +1?

-1 (or -2)
Could I lose marks for question 4ia? I used the arithmetic series formula instead of just 4 x 20, as a precaution
(edited 8 years ago)
Arsey could you provide your predicted grade boundaries? Thanks

predicting grade boundaries is a guessing game. I don't think it was an easy paper but was probably standard for a recent session paper. Last couple of papers have been 64 and 63 for an A. I doubt it will be too far away from that.

Rough grade boundaries?
What UMS would you get for 68-72?

Where does it say to write them separately:eek:

It was an inequality question fo at the end u end up with 2 answers.
U had to plot them on graph and the mn as it was more than zero and parabola was positive had to shade outer region and give your ineq

Yes, the intercept was +1. Picture a positive quadratic crossing the y axis at +1. It would be impossible for it to cross the x axis at a negative value

Yeah I get that but where does it say to write the inequalities separately? I put it as 3-2sqrt2>p>3+2sqrt2

ONLY if coords are B marks(independent)
depends on how the marking scheme will be done after the sample provisional marking
