The last 6 mark question. Did we have to go far on saying that Nitinol is a shape memory alloy?

I mentioned that yes, but I doubt it's particularly relevant...all that was needed is probably information about alloys and a couple of examples, eg stainless steel, gold, nitinol.

With the iron one, I got the reaction right but they were telling me to put my pen down and I rushed it :frown:

Generally speaking, how did you find the exam?
Do you think the grade boundaries will be higher or lower compared to last years?

What did you write about the examples?

I said what metals (or carbon) made up the alloys, what prosperity this gave it and it's uses. Eg: stainless steel is an alloy of iron and chromium. It is corrosion resistant and so used for cooking utensils...

I didn't right any examples, because I had 6 points about it, and wrote a diagram!

It was quite an easy paper so I assume the boundaries will be higher than previous years

that paper was just MEH. i hope grade boundaries are low

I went with Tablet C, it neutralised more acid therefore contains more base?

low that paper was harder than 2014 and those boundaries were 50 for a*
