What did you all put for the (8 part iii)transformation matrix ( back to triangle ABC) and the area of a"b"c"( 8 part4)?

I think I got the area of A''B''C'' to be 192 units ^2 (4 x 48 which was the area s.f)
192 square units

192 square units

This is what I got. Determinant was 48. the area of ABC was 4 so 4 *48 = 192 square units
Did everyone get -7 and 123

For the question where you needed find q and r

Well. That paper was beautiful.

Yeah. The poll answers are messed up. Perhaps a mod could rectify them...
Anyone have the paper or unoffical mark scheme i can look at?

Has anyone got the paper?
Reply 51
Is there a mod that can sort out the poll?

It took me ages to get it :/ I used the calculator to solve one of the cubics though so definitely won't get all the marks 😂 how'd you find the rest?

1. x=5/18, y=1/27
(find the coefficients) I got one as 20 I think.
(Find k) k=⅓
(Find the roots) 5+4j, 5-4j, -3
(Find coefficients - again) -7 & 123
Can't remember much else.

Part 3 was 3 marks
Part 4 was 2 marks

Can't remember how many for the others.

A friend and I made an unofficial mark scheme afterwards though,
Note: Q1 should have X and Y the other way around, and Q4 is the one on the right except without the part beneath having been shaded.

From your mark scheme I reckon I lost around 5 marks... All on question 8 😞
