49/60 for A* fits the recent trend. But apparently a lot of people found some questions like (Moles are Mr in ____.... compared to _____) hard... I guessed correctly that question was going to come up, as there was no sign of it ever having coming up before.

Yeah chem c2 are normally pretty high. And yeah it's just about relaying information for that question tbh

what do you think the grade boundaries would be for an A in both C2 and C3 ?

40

What did people get for the two uses of ethanol question?

I said for use in bioethanol as a fuel and as a solvent in products like perfume
what did everyone get for the balancing equation question

For the ions test I wrote like
Iron (II) ions Sulfate ions
Instead of Iron (II) Sulfate
Don't ask why I have no idea.
Will I still get the marks?

Don't worry I think that was right because it asked you to name the 2 ions in each not the ionic compound.

I wrote for fuels and then I guessed and said it was use to make carboxylic acids which is used in vinegars??

What did people get for the question where you had to balance the equation on c2?

I seem to remember something like that! Thanks for reassuring me lol

for the first questions on c3 did you have to put symbols or were words fine ??

It asked for symbols but I think you will still get the marks for the words

i put just a 2 on the left side, not sure though. Usually they put dotted lines where you are supposed to balance.

I think it will probably be about 40.. Maybe a bit higher for C2..

Definitely. I was too baffled to think about that.

All I wrote was that a disadvantage of adding NaOH was that you had to add it each time you wanted to produce soft water.

That'll probably score you marks too, thanks, hope you get a good grade!

That's what I did, I wasn't sure if it was right

for the first question on c3 were they asking for the actual names of the elements of the symbols?

i think the words but they more often than not allow both, they will allow the symbols cos it was a chem exam, i did words because i think its clearere, it would be mean to disallow either
I think that it'll be on analysing results from a results table!

Thanks! I wish you the best of luck for results day too!
There was a balancing equation for C2??? I think i missed that out what part of the paper was it and how many marks??
What was the answer for comparing the two methods? (5 marks)
