I put concentrated acid (sulfuric acid) would I still get the marks?

also does anyone know if i will get the marks for writing different pressures on the polymer question???

That should be right as it is changing a reaction condition which is primarily what the questions asks for for one of the reasons. (They've asked it before)

yeah, I think they were looking for any named acids really cause any acid catalyst can be used in the process but sulphuric acid is the one mentioned in textbooks

i think acid on its own would be fine, CGP Textbook says "an acid catalyst (e.g. concentrated sulfuric acid)" - and the question wasn't linked specifically to ethyl ethanoate, was it? i thought it just said what catalyst is used in the production of esters (or something along that)

There was a question about writing a compound that contains silver ions. I wrote silver nitrate - is that correct?
The next question was something about a substance containing carbonate ions - I wrote zinc carbonate - will that get a mark?
I didn't really understand what the question was asking so I just guessed for both haha,
Aren't metal oxides insoluble?

i wrote vinegar would i get a mark for that?

What question was the one about "Are metal oxides bases or alkalis?" in... like what were the other questions around it because I don't remember seeing that and starting to worry i missed a page :/

it was for the question on soluble substances with the table
for the aluminum question, would bauxite suffice as to aluminum oxide?

Hahaha honestly I don't think anyone had a clue on that 5 marker. I said stuff like more accurate and sensitive for titration, however more expensive, require indicator, subjective as to when reaction finished, burette for example could be dangerous (sharp). Then method 1 I said less sensitive, easier, however more steps where human error could go wrong e.g. filtration, subjective as to when all solid has formed, stuff like that can't remember really!

One marker questions not a big deal, I did that I said boiling point decreases in halogens because iodine is a liquid for example.... how bloody stupid! I really should have re read my answer as I would've probably picked up on that XD I loved the ammonia questions, hopefully it will be two marks for both of us

You probably got all the marks for that titration question.

(I think I might have wrote something about the point of colour change being subjective too, but it might be my brain fooling myself...).

I can't remember all the ammonia questions. I wasn't concentrating fully in that paper. I remember writing something along the lines of, 'no, increasing temperature counteracted by increasing yield of Y restoring equilibrium'...

How well did you do overall in Biology and Chemistry, if you mind me asking?

P.S. I also think AQA was very vague on certain questions. Especially that ratio question in B2, and the overall energy increase question in C3.

No it was specifically asking for the catalyst used to react Ethanol and Ethanoic acid which would be Sulphuric Acid :frown: but I think most people struggled with that.
What did everyone put for the question where you had to tick either carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen and something else.. I can't remember the actual question 😁

probably not

on the 5mark question in c3 where you had to evaluate the two methods what were points you could put? I had no understanding of method one and am so scared ive just lost all 5 marks:frown:

I basically put:
*method 1 takes longer because theres more stages and you have to filter off the stuff blah blah blah...
method 1 easier because method 2 have to add the acid slowly but method 1 you just add to excess
*method 1 cheaper equiptment- beaker etc. method 2 requires specialised equiptments like a buretter
*method two more accurate- can find out exactly how much acid neutralises whatever it was

I have no idea if this is right or if I lost 5 marks :frown: I just made stuff up and tried to show I knew what titration was

Does anyone know if this is right? :/

Phew thank you... i think I put alkali not sure...

I did not understand this question at all! I just copied the stuff from the boxes into the answer spaces 😂

lets hope that they accept just "acid"

It was hydrogen, but I got that question wrong.

I believe they asked you 'what type of substance is used as the catalyst', so I wrote 'acid'.

Yeah they Are
It's hydrogen because sodium is a metal and acid + metal -------> salt + hydrogen
