What do you reckon the grade boundaries for an A will be? and will 100ums be full marks in this paper do you think?
Original post by Mr M
No.

You have probably written y=1x2y=-\frac{1}{x-2}. This is exactly the same.

Would you get any marks for simply writing (-1/x) +2 ?

Thanks
Can't remember what I put for 2iii but I seem to have gotten full marks otherwise! cheers, Mr m

No idea about grade boundaries but probably yes to your second question.

Thanks for the speedy reply. For Question 6 I got 3 solutions but failed to get the fourth, would I lose 1 or 2 marks? Also 2iii I said stretch but wrong scale factor, lose 1 or both marks? Again thanks!

drop 1 and drop 1

For question 7b)
I differentiated wrongly and ended up with a different power, and got the answer as -1/12. Do I get any marks?

Snap! Great to know we'll get some marks!

Thanks Mr M for posting this - really appreciate it. Just a quick clarification would be great - for the last question I didn't specify the units, I know this sounds silly but would I be penalised for not writing "square units" - I just underlined my answer of 40.

Thank you again.

Just the number is fine.
Hello Mr M. Thank you for posting the mark scheme.

My question is, On question 7) I don't remember if I did this, but if I made -3x^2+10x-3 positive (3x^2 -10x+3) Would I lose marks?

Thanks.
for 5 (iii) I put 3x - 4y - 29/2 = 0 would this still be correct? Otherwise, how many marks would I lose?
For the 7 marker with the answer 6x-8y-29

I somehow did 21-8 rather than 21+8 and got -13 so i ended up with 6x-8y-13. Would that just be one mark lost? Thanks.

Yes you will drop 1 mark. You wouldn't change an answer of 7 to -7 would you? This is the same thing.

Drop 1 for failing to use integers.

Drop 1 mark if you had = 0 at the end.

Do you have the Mechanics 2 ocr answers? It was really hard this year!
for question 2ii: I wrote y=-1/(x-2)
would the brackets there be penalized?

for question 6ii: I wrote 625root5 would I lose all 2 marks

for 7a: I wrote -3x^2-3+10x would the order of function be penalized

for question 8i: could I have the equation that you had to solve to find the three intercepts
