Are the star ratings in Siklos step booklet an accurate indicator of difficuly?

I feel like he massively over-rated the difficulty of each problem, most of the two star questions are kind of standard step 1 difficulty and the three star ones are maybe what you'll get in some of the harder step 1 questions

They are roughly accurate representations, remember you are looking at advanced problems in core mathematics as opposed to the book on advanced problems in mathematics so the questions are going to be easier. However, they are accurate representations of difficulty, the book really builds you up as at the start it is nowhere as challenging as later on. I think * = easier than usual ** = standard and *** = harder???
