[AQA] GCSE Spanish Reading 15/05/2015 Unofficial Mark Scheme

Hi everyone,

Same as before, let's try and compile a mark scheme for the reading paper from today.

1)
a. He has a positive relationship with his workers
b. i. Fashion
b. ii. Socialising and coping with money
b. iii. Writing to the council
b. iv. Technology

2) Mountain biking
a. To be closer to nature
b. The views
c. Admire the spectacular lake
d. Try the cakes
e. The route is uneven (i.e. not flat)

3)

4)
Example: discuss difficult subjects with the doctor
a. Organise private teaching for the patients
b. Reserve a family room for parents
c. Provide emotional support for relatives

5) Obsessions
a. Body building
b. Healthy eating
c. Cleanliness

6)
a. Who can manage their workload: A + F
b. Who works better in groups: F
c. Who is concerned about the environment: A + F
d. Who finds it difficult to switch off from work: A

7) Match the paragraph to the headline
a. Job that they do: E (something to do with working as farmers ['tierra'])
b. Lack of medical care: C (many people die from contracting HIV ['SIDA'] but get no treatment)
c. Lack of sanitation: D (many children die from drinking dirty water)

8)
Example: she wrote her CV in January
a. She will continue her language studies if she gets good grades
b. She may possibly consider doing charity work
c. Her father gives her the best advice

9) Shopping problems
a. B (people were choosing the item in store and then ordering it online)
b. In Australia, they charged customers 5 dollars if they were looking but not buying anything
c. i. The people were getting free eye tests, then ordering glasses online
c. ii. He thinks that customers should pay for the eye tests
d. They have two separate catalogues, one for in-store and one for online

10)
a. They were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary
b. Carolina was the only single person there
c. Her parents have agreed to let her share her apartment with her boyfriend/fiancé
d. They would be angry if she had children before marriage

11)
a. Bad attendance record; Checking personal emails; Being very mean to colleagues
b. He would follow all of his teachers' recommendations

12)

8a) is good grades not good notes. Also, wasn't three the new style question where you had to fill in the connectives? Think I got a) juntos b) ya no and c) exepto. there may have been a fourth though

Made the correction and added the new question type. There was another one where you had to fill in the connectives but I can't quite remember that one.

Question 12 was about what not to do to lose your job
12(a) I think was poor attendance (or something along those lines), being mean to colleagues (not exact wording) and checking personal e-mails
12(b) was "he will follow all his teachers' recommendations/advice"

You missed out question 2! It was about what the people want to do to help or something. One of them was fashion advice, writing a letter to the town hall, something to do with technology and I can't remember the other one

wasnt one of the answers to 1,b was sociallising and something else???? i got b)fashion c) sociallising and ???? and then the other two answers

If I get 13 on the listening and nearly all of them right on the reading and a* in coursework for reading and a in coursework for reading what overall grade will I get do you think? Baring mine I don't even think 13 would be a d!
