Inspector calls monday may exam - a/a* easy tips

Hey everyone, this is my first post so hopefully it is an acceptable standard!
So my target for English is an A star and I have some tips to share as to how to achieve top grades.

Mention the seven deadly sins! This immediately forces the examiner to consider an A grade, just like that. So in case you are unaware, each character arguably represents a deadly sin - Priestley does this so that the Birlings ( who represent capitalism) are morally repugnant to the audience, for example, Mr Birling represents greed, gluttony and maybe wrath.

Similarly to the deadly sins, mentioning irony also forces your grade to go into these top bands. The most obvious example is "Unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable". Although this is said to magnify how well established Mr Birlings business is, it also relates to the titanic which the audience are fully aware wasn't unsinkable. This undermines Birlings credibility.

TALK ABOUT PRIESTLEY. Although not essential, having some good knowledge about the writer entrenched into your writing is certainly something which improves your mark - talk about how he is a socialist and how Birling is the antithesis of him.

MEMORISE SOME QUOTES. Get 2-5 quotes on each character and spend 30 minutes to an hour memorising them. You don't even need the book in the exam and it adds confidence

ALWAYS TALK ABOUT THE ENDING! Even if it doesn't directly link to the question, it is vital to talk about the ending. Now you should construct a paragraph or 2 and try and memorise it/have a good idea about it so that you can quickly write it at the end of your essay. If all else fails, if you have a good paragraph about the ending, you'll still accumulate some lovely marks. Moreover, don't be scared to be very detailed in it - I have memorised 1 and a half pages on the ending and as i have memorised it, I can write it very very quickly so i am not wasting precious time in the exam.

USE EXTRA SOURCES - I watch Dominic Salles on YouTube and look at other essays and maybe pinch and adapt some ideas

DO NOT WRITE ABOUT SYBIL AND CHOOSE THE HARDEST QUESTION,
This was stolen from Domininc Salles, but choosing the hardest question automatically gives you a C (provided you write something). Also, It is too difficult to collect marks quickly on Sybil so try to stay away from a question about her. But with that in mind, don't neglect her as a character, still memorise some quotes on her.

THS USUAL STUFF - alternative interpretations, evaluation, language analysis, context and a real good stab at the question secures you the top bands.

Now I was going to provide quotes, but I think it's a bit too late and I think it's best if you get your own quotes as it makes your response more personal.
