What can you write about if a 12 marker came up on social change??


You can write about Moscovici and then conclude that for a social change being consistent is important,
There is also the suffragettes, where you can include the steps for social change which are:
Drawing attention to an issue opposed to the majority
The role of conflict, when we examine the minority view more deeply
Consistency
The argumentation principle, taking risks when putting forward the point of view

Time consuming
Difficult to compare in-depth interviews because each one is unique

Hard to analyse so represent in a graph
It gives rich data, especially unstructured interviews
In implications of social change you can write

According to Moscivi and Nemeth
-consistancy (minority should be consistant about their cause)
-unselfish (no personal gain)
-being active (by being active minority can make more people aware of their cause)

Also talk about Van Avermaet Snowball effect people who are influenced by minority will bring their family/friends.

Zimbardo- the Lucifer effect
People can be persuaded to do good things step by step

Disobdience- Ghandi used non violent disobdience in India to build a consensus against British rule.


Social Cryptoamnesia
Old views are gradually forgotten as new age develops its own set of rules.

What are peoples predictions then, for today's exam?
Okay so if the 12 marker is explain how social influence helps us understand social change, would it be right to write..
1.Moscovici's study - describe and evaluate it i.e. talking about consistency.
2. Real life example of consistency e.g. Suffragettes
3. Explain snowball effect and social cryptoamnesia
4. Real life example of the snowball effect e.g. the majority used to be white in south africa, now they are a minority

is this right?!?!?!

Use the results from the variations of Asch's and Milgram's study as supporting evidence for the reasons

Yes that's right! You could also talk about moscovici's other 2 behavioural clarifications which are flexibility and relevance
How would you answer "outline and evaluate research relating to independent behaviour"?

Would you just talk about resisting pressures to conform like:
-high internal LOC
-unanimity etc

and resisting pressures to obey:
-no authority
-no legitimate authority
-seeing the pain we cause

then back each one up using the variations from Milgram and Asch's study??
I laughed at this😂

Anyway, if all else fails let's all just shock ourselves with 450v and hope for the best!!
