For the rSn line, don't put the last term (ar^n+1) in, it just complicates things (and it can't really be a part of Sn if you think about it?)

The last term is not ar^n+1 its ar^n . un =ar^n-1 so r Un =ar^n

I don't c2 many people looking forward for the maths exam tomorrow

Good point!

I just get confused as to how ar^n - 1 minus ar^n cancel out idk why

Plug a number in as 'n' and take away fully, it should work out

its 100% is I checked the spec last week and it says and I quote
'The proof of the sum formula should be known'
its on page 28 right hand side of the spec and in the 2007 January paper it came up as question 10a

*Laughs evilly* Stupid beast. That was your only help for this exam you're worrying so much about. Asgardians don't need midgardian toys to do maths.

There is an explanation bee similar to this on examsolutions.net got to the edexcel videos>geometric sequences>I think it's the investment example. I've had to watch it a couple of times

I go stuck on this one as well.

where can you access the reserved papers for past years?

If a paper has to be replaced for any reason - a batch of papers goes missing in the post, a set of papers is accidentally leaked by an exam centre due to a cock up, or someone with access to the papers maliciously leaks them to facilitate cheating - a reserve paper is pulled from the secure collection of already written/tested exam papers and printed for use. At that point it becomes the real paper and that's the one that is available from past paper archives. The original paper that was intended to be used is usually released to teachers for internal use but there may not be an official mark scheme to go with it. R papers are not reserved papers they are Regional papers for use by candidates outside the UK. All but the latest ones can be downloaded from the edexcel web site. There are no C2 papers that have needed to be replaced.
