i don't get how you do the binomial expansion formula thing with the factorials to solve for n.
like if you had nC2=6, you would put it in to nCr=n!/r!(n-r)! to get that 6=n!/2!(n-2)!
then i just have no clue how to solve for n

can someone please explain how to distinguish wether the trapezium rule give and underestimate or everestimate

Sketch the graph. Sketch the trapezium. You'll be able to tell if it's an overestimate (the trapezium cover a bigger area than the curve) or an underestimate (the trapezium all lie under the curve).
Can someone write down all the questions exactly so I can have a go at them please?

you mean if I had (3x+6)^n
and they asked me what n is?
do you know how to use the (1+nx) thing? if you don't let me know I'll help you

n! = n x (n-1) x (n-2) x ... x 2 x 1
(n-r)! = (n-r) x ... x 2 x 1 etc.

so most of the n! cancels out when you divide.
ie. for nC2 = 6 you have n!/2!(n-2)! which simplifies to n(n-1)/2
