Have you seen the paper yet?
I think your opinion poll is somewhat exaggerating the difficulty of this paper. Most of the questions were pretty standard stuff.

I have and I have revised by predictions

Well that's a spelling I haven't seen before

I'd say two out of five marks lost.

So how much marks will i get /9 if i got one intergral wrong but the rest of the intergrals right for a, and doing everything right for part but i will come out with the final answer?

ITS ****ING PISSING ME OFF SAME MISTAKE IN C1
Just retake a module you've done bad in next year

For question 3 I used difference of two squares and factorised it to
F(x)=(2x+1)(√3x-4√3)(√3x+4√3)
Is this correct or is this not 'fully' factorised? How many marks would I get?

well no cus you can take a root 3 out can't you

Based on seeing the paper myself
I am estimating
73/75 for 100 UMS
61/75 for 80UMS Grade A
54/75 for 70 UMS Grade B
You know if you have a lot of working out and its a bit messy but you have the correct answer, will they still check through it all to check for it? i made a lot of mistakes of 2b at first then got the correct answer but not too sure if it will stand out to the examiner?

probably 2/9
for question 3(c) I wrote (2x+1)(3x+12)(x+4), instead of 3(2x+1)(x+4)(x-4), because for some reason I thought that in order for it to be fully factorised the whole thing had to be in brackets. Will I still get marks?:s-smilie:

for 8(ii) the question was 4sin^2 x+ cosx= 4-k
a) find k in terms of cos x.
b) when k=3, find x from 0<x<360

for a) i got 4cos^2 x-cos x=k
cos x(4cosx-1)=k
cos x =k or cos x=(1+k)/4

ahahah exact same :/

I did the same as you, my further maths teachers said that it's technically correct but they would have wanted you to take out the 3 to get 3(x-4)(x+4) but I'm not sure if our method is ok. Let me know if it is

My Best Case Scenario:
C1: 70 UMS
C2: 53 UMS
So: 57 UMS Required in S1 for a C (87 for a B)

This wasn't mine haha
I've already got an A in AS maths

Because you can simplify the middle bracket by dividing by 3

Thats what I did as well :s-smilie:
Well i totally flopped in that exam. I got Q1-4 and 6 but eveything else was dreadful. Looks like i need to study hard for M1 Sigh

probably 2/9

i'll only get 2 marks whattttt n00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Damn!! Would I lose a mark for that?

I'm guessing so. Do you think I would?I used difference of two squares and put
F(x) = (2x+1)(√3x+4√3)(√3x-4√3)

According to arsey's markscheme it isn't I made this silly mistake aha
predicting 70 for C1 and 70 for C2 so thats atleast 90 UMS each meaning I ll have less pressure in C3 and C4, hopefully D1 goes well too

Q: for Q9 ii in C2 if u got the method right but the final answer was wrong do you get 3 or 4 marks out of 5. I wrote everything correct except the final answer ..

Good luck everyone
